Threads being Closed

I never seen so many threads being closed over such a short space of time.
Yet the content of them seem no more of a binfest or being personal arguments that have previously been left to run.(And fun to read, cue pringles etc)

Is there a clampdon in force by the mods ?

It's the recesioon - everything's being cut back these days.

That's it, you just stir it up again. Aren't you clever enough to see that NSC is polarised into those that think Goody is a slapper, and those that think shes a princess.

It has nothing to do with joking about cancer. It would have been the same polarisation if she had died in a car crash or of syphilis.

That Jade thread needed to be closed, very responsible bit of moderating in my view. Credit where it's due.

You had people (more than one, as well) saying they wished cancer on other posters, and hoping they died a sad, slow and painful death. Disgraceful.

Quite possibly the sickest low point on this board, and Bozza did what had to be done. Certain individuals should also have been banned, in my book.

Much more of that and it may be the moment to go and do something a bit more productive with my time. Shame on those involved, I doubt they would like their families to see what they were posting.

There were two threads closed. One from Bars Mars, which was a lampoon at the circulation related drivel and crocodile tears concerning Jade Goodies demise, and one for the RIP'ers to have their say when she died.

I think if both sets of posters had kept to their side of the fence then both threads could (and probably should) have been allowed to continue.....but they didn't.

While we are on the subject, the starter of that thread should have, technically, been banned. Not exactly the work of someone on a power trip.

Under normal rules of engagement I would agree with you, and lively and meaningful debate (and of course Binfests) are part and parcel of NSCland.

I think that under the circumstances, in which Bozza had clearly asked for polite comments only on the RIP thread, then perhaps it would be better to accede to his wishes. There was plenty of opportunity on the Bars Mar thread to debate the merits of this woman's contribution to our lives.

To use the old analogy of NSC being a pub, Bozza is the landlord, and ultimately it is his licence (read from that if some tosser sues the board his head is on the line) the mods are the bouncers who carry out his broad instructions (which are 'don't be a bellend') and are normally okay, but like everyone else do make mistakes (I know I have on occasion), and everyone else are punters.

If you don't like the way the landlord runs his pub..........
