(Don't know who this bard Llywellyn is though - I think that it refers to the last prince of Wales rather than a poet).

Everyone's so much better at football than England at the moment. Don't feel Wales are anything special.

The situation is this: (and exactly the same thing goes for cricket as well) England are an AVERAGE team at best. Every now and again the squad will turn in a fantastic result, Germany 1 England 5 for example, and everyone gets excited and talks about "a new England revival" and "turning the corner" and so on, only to get downhearted when the team inevitably falls flat on their faces a couple of games later.
England are always talked up way out of proportion to their achievements, which are none, the World Cup win in '66 being the only exception, and that was due to massive home support and dodgy refereeing.

At least Wales don't pretend to be something they aren't.
