Was looking at some photos on Facebook last night. There was thick snow in Brighton on 6 April 2008. So tho the thermostat seems permanently stuck on minus one, we've had much worse recently.

That was a one day wonder, on a Sunday.
There was a similar weekend of snow in late March / Early April in c.1975.
Both melted very soon afterwards.

This sustained bitter cold week after week in late March across the entire British Isles, and Western Europe is almost unprecedented. These are colder temperatures day after day, than an average Sussex Coast January daily max of 8c.

I'd say in about 10 days time we should start to see some double figures, possible earlier but my money is not till mid April!

Probably coldest March since '62, we know/read about what happened in the following winter 62-63! Hmmm

We don't do Summer in England anymore. 29th May , max temp 12C 54F with rain. Even last Monday there were thousands of people on Brighton beach. Temp 13C 55F !!

We've had 2 shit summers. Before that we'd had 4 very warm, dry summers.

Everything is at least a month late this year...some trees are only just coming into leaf. It'll catch up, don't worry.

We've had useless summers for about 9-10 years. Yea we've had a few nice warm weeks here and there but good summers?
