I am expecting him to hold the ball up better than anyone has since Glenn Murray, chip in with the odd cheeky goal and lay off some quality passes to what I hope will be players quick enough and bright enough to link up with him. It's the other players we have upfront that concern me much more than BZ tbh, he could be playing balls that nobody has the nous or pace to get to. We still need more quality upfront.

Zamora scored 69 goals in three prolific seasons for the Seagulls before leaving for Tottenham in 2003.

Last time he was here he physically took us in the right direction at a time the club was very low both on and off the pitch.
This time I hope he goes a massive way to improving the atmosphere in general around the place at a time where can moral maybe a little low especially amount some fans. Nobody expects the same bobby but I think we will get a player who since he has gone has developed in to a better player both on and off the pitch.

Sorry to add a word of caution everybody . . .

But this isn't the same 'will o' the wisp' Bobby that we knew and loved from back in the early noughties. Look at the facts, he will be 35 next birthday, his knees are going, and h is at the tail end of his career. Yes we might get a year out of him, but he isn't going to score many goals, and he won't start every match.

The Premier League changed him anyway, he beefed up, put on weight, became stronger, and it gave him a better 'all round' game, but he was never as prolific a scorer as he was in his Withdean days.

Don't get me wrong, l still love Bobby, still think he will be a good signing, will add bags of experience to the front line and the dressing room, and will put extra bums on seats.

But please don't expect TOO much . . . that's all.

It's top level experience that we're getting here. Even if it wasn't Bobby if we were signing anyone who had just played 30 odd games in the premier league we would be over the moon. The fact that he has such affection for the club and the willing he has shown to sign the club can only be seen as a positive.

As already stated by many his hold up play will be the key - gives a chance for others to actually get into box. Add to that we have someone who will get on the end of corners and free kicks into the box. And of course he wants to be here, we want him here. So what if we get one year out of him (personally I think it will be more- he did play 30 games in the premier last season ) it will be full of emotion and passion. Welcome home Bobby
