After seeing Trump image, it reminded of the series House of Cards, political power and all that :)

Interesting conversation on the radio this morning where they were discussing if the portrayal of American politics through house of Cards helped to aid the anti establishment/career politician sentiment

The West Wing did something very similar with their final series, with Jimmy Smits playing Matthew Santos. And Commander In Chief, starring Geena Davis as the first female president. That was meant to show a woman could be strong, lead the military and take care of her family all at the same time. House of Cards is a very dark spin on US politics.

Almost as dark as the real thing. Life imitating art imitating life...

I hope none of the NY Times/Washington Post reporters use the subway home - if they do, they shouldn't stand too close to the platform edge

All of the West Wing cast got themselves out and about to try and drum up support for Hillary, but even they were not enough.

The polling wasn't so wrong though. Most polls in the last week had Clinton ahead by one or two percent. She won by 0.1%, well within the margin of error
EDIT; What the polls did get wrong was not what the votes would be but what they meant. The feeling was that the Electoral College system meant that it was hard for Trump to win even if he did get more votes but the reverse happened.
