Fact 1> A fair-sized (and growing by the day) number of Albion fans want Adams out.

Fact 2> Adams will not be fired.

Fact 3> Adams does not want to quit.

Fact 4> Brighton are on a downward spiral, with no clear sign as to why that would be turned around anytime soon.

So my question is this, what lengths will some Albion fans go to in trying to force Adams to quit?

If results continue to show no marked or sustained improvement I could see things turning a bit ugly.

Are you insinuating murder?

I don't really understand your post though. The fans can't really do much more than show their displeasure at matches or vote with their wallet. I don't believe that Adams is invincible as some suggest, but I do think Knight won't sack him until it is absolutely necessary.

Haha I'm not insinuating anything, I'm just concerned that it could get really quite aggressive at some games, is it unimaginable that it could get so bad that some of our more bone-headed supporters might try and get to him?

I'm suggesting that "showing displeasure at matches" could escalate possibly?

Remember the fan at Boro who chucked his season ticket at McClaren, and they were in a far more respectable position all things considered than where we look like heading.

The displeasure shown at matches is actually very mild. A couple of shouts from behind the dogout, some isolated boos at the final whistle. That's as bad as it gets. Everybody just shuffles off into the dark. It's only people voting with their wallet that will lead to a change in manager. The board aren't daft. They will have to take action to protect the bottom line if things are allowed to drift much further.

Spot on.

You really think they'd sack him? Everything I've heard points to him being absolutely unsackable, at least for the next year or so.

I don't think they'll sack him. I think that we'll win the JPT second leg at Luton on penalties, the board will get to sit in the Directors Box at Wembley, the end of season DVD will show that the diggers went in at Falmer, we turned over the mighty Man City, and 25,000 of us did the Wembley Stadium Tour. There'll be a small footnote that says we finished fifth bottom of League One, but overall, everything in the garden will be deemed to be rosy.

So they will sack him or won't sack him?

I think the away fans will turn on him if we lose on Saturday, rather than just the air of resignation around Withdean after a home match. And I really do think Adams has not got long left, you've got people like John Baine calling for him to go on the fans phone in, we're perilously close to last place and still sliding. I know he's on a 3 year contract but if things don't change it will reach the point where his position is untenable, they'll have to sack him, and I don't think it is far off.

Dare I say it and I know many will disagree, but if it gets worse, then there's two possible ways to address the matter:

1. Boycott a home game.
2. Stage a protest at the end of the game

I don't think either would happen though as people are just fed up and that's why nothing will change.

As things stand, that could be considered a successful season. I'll take it, not yet been to the "new" Wembley...

I think it will be interesting to see just how many season ticket holders are going to renew and what the prices will be

I can't see it turning nasty, it would seem that people don't feel strongly enough to act as one voice of displeasure.
If everyone is so unhappy about Adams and what is going on, then why are there not nearly 6,000 people chanting 'Adams Out' after another poor home performance? Instead there is just a short, muted boo after every game. Do people care anymore? Or is everyone beyond caring?
If the percentage of the crowd were to chant 'Adams Out' after another home defeat, I think that would be the end for him here. But it hasn't happened yet and will it? I'm not so sure...

I'd take that now!

But fear it will be no Wembley and relagation confirmed with games in hand.

brighton, actually
i dont think the directors have bottomless pockets, and the recesssion must be hitting therm (investments down, funding for club restricted by banks- as for all borrowers), or just fed up with the grief and lack of return on effort put in.

with lower attendences (poor results, cold weather, and also recession -see above), i am surprised BHA FC are still trading, to be honest!

Tom Hark - If that is the way the season finishes, IT WILL BE A BLOODY SUCCESS. I hope we manage to pull off EVERYTHING that you see coming true. If we get 300K net for JPT Final, surely we can expect an overhaul and some new blood in the post season.

That is about the best we can hope for this season.
Would be disappointed if only 25,000 went to Wembley though.
