Most overrated songs

I think TLO may have done the write up on no2

I think Bohemian Rhapsody should have been No1 myself

I agree to a point with Bohemian Rapsody (although I never did like Queen) but I would argue about the rest. Mind you the fact that The Fall have found themselves in there would rather devalue the writer's opinion somewhat, since when have they ever been classic anything ?

Bohemian Rhapsody should have been a clear winner - total bollocks from start to finish. I'm amazed that Stairway to Heaven was not in the list. And he could, of course, have included any 13 U2 songs and still had a credible selection

But including The Fall on it - is he mad?

I would have voted Imagine as 1st,2nd and 3rd most over rated. Hey Ya, on the other hand, is a great song.

Pronounced Leh-Nerd-skin-nerd is a sublime album. f***ing Americans, what do they know!!

There is too much Music Facism in the world ( and on here too)- waits for Zef to sign on and berate us all

My old singing teacher used to say that "modern music " was not "good music" because it didn't follow the strict notation patterns of Bach and Beethoven. I lent her my Lynard Skynard album and persuaded her to listen to it, and even though she was in her 80's and a real old school person, she accepted that it was well constructed and written. High praise indeed!

If he was going to put an OASIS song in there it should have been "Don't Look Back In Anger"

I don't, however, agree that OASIS should be in there at all. OASIS have never been overrated because they have always been slagged off as derrivative, talentless c^nts.

Granted music is a matter of personal taste but as I said earlier, the list lacks credibilty thanks to the inclusion of The Fall and Def Leppard (although its an American list and they are far bigger there than here, the bland leading the bland I call it).

I have never, luckily for them, heard anyone rate, overly or otherwise, pour some sugar on me by def leppard and if did I would be pouring some petrol on them.

Sub, soft metal wank! God cuts off the drummers arm, strikes down the guitarist curses them all with crap hair, shit dress sense and even worse musical taste and still they dont get the message. Piss off!

Not very PC but "Sweet Home Alabamba" is always a good foot stomper. :unclesam:

A direct response to Neil Young's Southern Man, ironic as they might have been red necks but they were from Florida (which is near Alabama), Florida just doesn't scan as well.

Mind you, that is one tune you want to hear when you start the car and drive off on a hot Dixie day !

What a miserable bastard. And not one Coldplay tune!

Surely 'Yellow' deserves it's place in the list?

Most overrated song for me HAS to be 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' by Joy Division. Irritating repetative riff and a totally morose, semi-stoned lead singer droning his way through it. CACK of the highest order.

i just wish that everyone could agree on the same musical tastes and generally get on with one another. It would make the world a nice place to live in. It is a well known fact that nearly 97% of the modern wars have been started by musical disagreements.

That said. I think most people agree that Queen are f***ing shite, as are Deaf Leppards.
