I do feel for those of you who have to the London journey daily..... Favourite bit today was the warning ' that the approaching train is not scheduled to stop at this station' a) yes it is, b) the warning came 6 mins after train flew through....

Tremendous automatic announcement. We had a bit of a chuckle when we pulled into Victoria and the announcement came on saying "this is London Bridge, our final destination".

Did anybody else get the 18:47 Victoria - Littlehampton/Ore train last night??
I'm sure the conductor chap was taking the piss out of Southern in his numerous announcements at Gatwick whilst being delayed waiting for a piece of paper to allow the train to stop somewhere else blah blah blah... Anyway just thought he was rather humorous in his approach...

Always going on about bloody trains..........................................................................................................

It's no wonder the trains are so rubbish if they have this attitude.

I do not think I have been on a single weekday train on time this year but strangely the 0914 yesterday from Shoreham to Victoria was on time.

Network Rail PPM

How punctuality is measured

PPM measures the performance of individual trains advertised as passenger services against their planned timetable as agreed between the operator and Network Rail at 22:00 the night before. PPM is therefore the percentage of trains 'on time' compared to the total number of trains planned.

A train is defined as on time if it arrives at the destination within five minutes (ie 4 minutes 59 seconds or less) of the planned arrival time for London and South East or regional services, or 10 minutes (ie 9 minutes 59 seconds or less) for long distance services.

Where a train fails to run its entire planned route calling at all timetabled stations it will count as a PPM failure.

Heathrow Express, Grand Central, Hull Trains and Eurostar are not included in the national PPM.

Personally happy to live with a 5 minute delay. However, these c***nts have been allowed to slip into a mindset whereby a 10/20/29 minute delay is totally acceptable so long as they issue a totally insincere 'VERY sorry' tannoyed apology. 5hit state of affairs.

Most depressing day of the year isn't it?

1. The weather's sh1t.
2. New Year resolutions have been broken.
3. People are still in debt from Christmas and New Year.

4. We lost and Palace won.
