Looking back I have a few concerns that one of my PE teachers did indeed wish to 'get involved'.State schools had football and cricket teams . Games against other teams on Saturday morning with away games by coach. So many teachers whatever subject they taught if they had an interest they would coach at nets and attend school matches. No question of getting overtime pay they did it because they wanted to help out and get involved.
Definitely just you...Catching pigeons, keeping them in your dad's shed then getting a clip round the ear when your dad finds his best hand wind drill with bird shit all over it.
Granted this may have been just me

You can pin them to noticeboards.Finding butterfly chrysalises (??) in the shed, put them in a matchbox with cotton wool and wait a few weeks til they hatched.
Usually a beautiful red admiral... Then be very good and let it go of course.
We couldn't afford a notice boardYou can pin them to noticeboards.
We had an old nonce of a PE teacher who insisted on shower patrolsLooking back I have a few concerns that one of my PE teachers did indeed wish to 'get involved'.
My 1st junior membership was £15. Handbook, all john player league games on a sunday afternoon, gillette cup games in sunmer hols for a small additional fee if quarters or semis (b&h was usually pre the summer hols but would get down there after school) and same for the 3 day county championship. My Mum bought me one in 1982. I remember when she gave it to me. She cried and I think I nearly did too. Very special present. Wasn't even my birthday. I think it was a tenner back then, which wasn't cheap to us. I paid £450 for this year's. Fraction of the cricket as well. And at stupid times.

Yeah tbf I was looking at a Sunday IMAX showing but still ridiculous.I saw it last week at Cineworld in Crawley. Monday - Wednesday tickets are £6.
I stumped up an extra £4/ticket to see it on the IMAX screen because I am a FANCY DAN.
And there was me thinking this thread wouldn't get past two pages...well done, OPScrumping springs to mind.
Worryingly, I think a lot of us may have had one of these teachers...We had an old nonce of a PE teacher who insisted on shower patrols
