....are REALLY starting to grind my mammaries now.
Seemingly every single frigging opportunity, the programme director "treats" us to a super slo-mo close-up montage replay of every tiny incident, no matter how trivial. Yesterday we had the nadir, the absolute low point, when we got what seemed like a 5 minute close-up of the anguished sweaty face of Tevez in super slo-mo as he agonisingly drew his hands down across his nose and mouth after a chance went begging. He's bad enough at normal speed, but in close-up HD slow motion it nearly made me blow CHUNKS.

Then FINALLY the director decides to cut back to the game, and lo and behold, the Koreans have a free kick outside the Argie box. How did they get there ? Who fouled who ? Who knows, we missed the whole fecking move because we were left counting Tevez's nasal hairs at the time.

Look, we KNOW you're not broadcasting this thing from a small mud-hut in Swaziland. You don't need to continually ASSAULT us with prolongued close-up slow motions to prove how "clever" you are. JUST SHOW THE f***ing GAME.

Sheesh.

I like them too. producers LOVE clever toys, and will never pass up the chance to use them.

its all for HD innit, agree they are completley pointless and there are far too many of them.

I don't mind them when nothing else is happening (for example, whilst an injured player is being treated). However, when it cuts into the coverage its bloody annoying and totally uneccessary.

Exactly.
I wouldn't mind if they were showing this stuff when nothing else is going on, but time and again they're cutting back and the game is back in full flow. They're doing it to DEATH and I want it to STOP.

I still think they're shit then because they're almost always going to be shown in place of something more interesting.

Agreed. I call it "Nike disease" and file it along with pathetic adverts containing Ronaldinlo, Ronaldive and Shrek under "20 things that make you hate watching football on telly"

I like the ones where someone heads the ball and their face wobbles

there was a rather funny one in the game involving NZ (i think?) sweat went everywhere a long with the hair and, of course the signature face wobble

All about hd, they have to justify HD somehow as it's not all that with live sport
