I'm thinking of putting my dad's name with his d.o.b. and d.o.d. because we went to the Goldstone together and he never got to see Falmer being built. Is this the sort of thing that is appropriate for these things ? What are other people doing ?

very similar, am putting my dad's name (who never got to see us come back to withdean), and my daughter's name who will never meet her granddad, nor have been to the goldstone. See it as one place (however small and silly) that the 2 will share space together.

I think ours says summat like 'Seagulls forever, The Wilkin Family' - not the most inspiring thing ever but nice for all members of the family to see it there forever :)
