Does it need an 'investigation' or just a serious chat and statement given that the individual has already apologised. I think there are still bigger issues to fry e.g. why male footballers feel scared to admit they are homosexual. I also think its an attempted distraction from the Barry Burnell stuff.

Yes, I’d have hoped the FA would give similar or greater priority to those issues and the cause of dementia in ex pros

But now that it's been highlighted, what do you expect the FA to do? Shrug their shoulders and say it was years ago?

Absolutely Yes. Even if he was a part.of the FA (not sure) he hardly caused any harm to the FA at the time. He was 15, sure some of us may have been brought up with a more rounded view of the world and would not have used that kind of language, so what. Hey when I was 15 I was starting my descent into drug use. I got myself clean by 20 but hey maybe that should always be held against me. Maybe when I go into a client's home I should declare that 36 years ago I was a drug addict, and have them decide whether or not I am a fit person. He was fifteen, I doubt he is same person emotionally. The damage being done is by the FA reacting to the pratt who decided to try and tarnish the name and standing he has now, by telling on his past. This should have been ignored.

Your social media posts and online presence affects all aspects of life now unfortunately, I learnt that to my detriment a few years ago when I was rejected for a job on the basis of something I’d shared on Facebook when I was in my teens, It’s a sad world that an online persona is now becoming more important than your actual person.

The world is only going to get stranger and stranger.

This is exactly the problem. Those who think the FA is justified in its investigation need to ask yourselves do you really want to live in a world where everything you say and do throughout your life is treated and acted upon as if it is contemporary and relevant to who you have become?
