Bought this a few months ago, and finally started watching it at the weekend. Could not put it down, watched the first ten episodes on four DVD's, eagerly went to switch to the final DVD, and found that by mistake they had sent me two copies of Disc 4 and none of Disc 5.

This is NOT a good day, I don't particularly want to buy the box set again, although I will do so as HAVE to find out how the show resolves itself, but will now have to WAIT to find out how it finishes

Where poet's live.
Top show this. Watched all 5 sessions, something you can really get into even though it took me one or to eps to get going! But I'm usually like that with most shows I watch. And usually suddenly find myself hooked.
PM sent.

Absolutely cracking show: we're halfway through series 3 now.

I can't work out how I missed it when it was on TV. What channel was it on and on what time?

Best show ever made for Tv, most def, you feel? We've seen 1st 4 series- twice. How come you lot have got hold of Series 5 already?? And where do I get mine??

Why it wasn't on Channel 4 or Beeb 2 is crazy- it was on FX apparently.

It's between the Wire and the Sopranos deffo.

I haven't even heard of FX - no wonder I hadn't heard of it.

Top marks for the Brits too - who says we can't do gritty drama.

FX showed the final episode of season 4 last night and season 5 begins next Monday. It's on ridiculously late for a programme that's often acclaimed critically as the best TV ever - 11.30pm yesterday.

The only reason I can think that no terrestrial TV station shows it is because it'll make their crap programmes look even crapper. Interesting though I saw (I think on an interview with creator David Simon on the Series 4 dvd) that it wasn't watched by a many people in the States- an audience of 3 million he said, which is pretty small here, but for a country the size of the States... Reckon it might grow in fame over the years.

I don't know anyone who has seen this programme that doesn't love it.

The Wire is quite easily the best thing I have ever watched on tele. At the end of series 3 now, going to buy series 4 on dvd next month and then series 5 when it is released in September. f***ing fantastic it is.
