Song Is Over - On Odds n Sods - some gems on there
Who Are You (album version, not single)
Trick Of The Light is a great Entwistle song on Who Are You
New Song
Slip Kid
They're All In Love
You Better You Bet

plus all those The Large One suggested, although it would seem he ran out of patience with the greatest rock n roll band in the world after Quadrophenia.

Not such a great fan of much after the odd song here and there on The Who By Numbers. But they easily surpassed their credit rating to allow for the odd pup later on.

Although of their recent stuff 'Real Good Looking Boy' is listenable to, as is the live rendition of their wistful set closer these days 'Tea & Theatre'.

I thought Who By Numbers was great, but that was when I really was into them. Still listen to it, though. Endless Wire just about repaid the purchase price, although I haven't listened to it for months.

There was a 4 CD Who Box set which came out in the 90's. It was/is fantastic and already had all the albums.

If you're downloading I'd still download by Album and compilation album, here's my view on a few:

My Generation/The Who Sings My Generation - early, simple, young, irreverent, high energy, rebellious...great defining tracks on here. Not highly produced.

A Quick One - there are overlaps with some of the albums and you really should get Live At Leeds to get the live feel under your belt of some of the great tracks pre- 1970 done brilliantly, but A Quick One has many little classics that became live favourites such as Boris The Spider.

The Who Sell Out - if you get this you'll understand the title. It's got some fun, some lunacy, some great extra tracks on the later re-issue versions. I'm not sure it's essential (except for me, but I think they all are).

The Kids Are Alright - you get a lot for your money on what was a double vinyl album, including a good version of Won't Get Fooled Again.

Live At Leeds - this is Townshend giving Hendrix a run for his money and Daltrey giving Robert Plant a run for his. Live, raw, loud and fantastic.

Quadrophenia - It's got some stellar tracks on it, it's worth having as an album for the complete experience as well as the tracks.

Who's Next - around the fifth album, this is perhaps Townshend hitting his zenith writing and music wise, but for reasons I'm not sure of myself I don't find this my most treasured Who Album despite it having some of their most defining tracks.

Who Are You - commercially one of the most popular, Sister Disco is a great track, but apart from Who Are You it doesn't have killer Who tunes for new listeners.

Face Dances - 1981 and I don't know a lot of Who fans who talk about it. Kenny Jones is on drums, personally I liked the album enough to get two versions (one a rare Japanese import). It's you You Better You Bet, Another Tricky Day, Daily Records, Did You Steal My Money. This is the departure from the raw, wall of sound stuff of previous albums.

Quadrophenia - personally I think this one is when you've 'got' The Who.

Tommy - you might be better off downloading the pick of the tracks including Acid Queen, Pinball Wizard etc., but you get Sparks better on Live At Leeds.

That's a few off the top of my head. Hope that helps. I'd love to have never head The Who and to re-discover them. That would be amazing.

Mr Daltrey lives in my village (Burwash), regularly see him wandering up the high street and nipping into the local shop. Very short man but a rock god all the same
