I am afraid there are not that many of us old Brighton boys left on NSC Tuby. Did he go up the Scene on Saturday nights as well?

I dont recall him mentioning this but I can ask him. I recall he used to hang out in the back room of The Bath Arms and there was a cafe in The Lanes called The Lorelei. Do these mean anything to you?

Did anyone from NSC see The Who at The Assembly Hall in Worthing in 1971? It was the first time they'd played "The Who's Next" live. I was at college then and my friend & I sneeked in and watched Keith Moon rehersing before we got chucked out. Phenomenal ! We had tickets anyway and it was an incredible concert. I saw them the previous year at Sussex Uni refectory, or to be precise I saw Townshend's arm periodically when he was doing his windmills. That was the "Live at Leeds" tour. How they still have the audacity to still call themselves The Who is beyond me.....

Yeah I was there and also the Christmas concert at the Pier Pavilion around the same era when Keith Moon spent most of the set throwing drumsticks into the crowd but didn't miss a beat incredible performance

The Lorelei - one of the discreet gay venues of old Brighton town that was flourishing back in the days when homosexuality was still illegal.

Ha ha. I will have to mention this to my father. Maybe he has something else to tell me?

Only what LB has pointed out. Scandinavia, Western Road, Hove. Coffee Bar, until they were considered to be dens of iniquity by the council, and had to be licensed for opening after 6pm.
The Regent, Thursday evening. ( They played records.) Then the Druids, Sussex, Electricity House. Etc.

I can confirm as a life long "Burrisher", Roger Daltrey does live near Burwash and regularly shops in the village. My mate is the manager of the local store and is going to ask him if The Who are going to play.

Robert Smith from The Cure also lives in Burwash, not far from Daltrey but nobody ever sees him ! Gary Numan lives near Heathfield, nearly ran him over one day in my car, quite ironic way for the syth pop king to go.

Yes I can 100% confirm that Roger Daltrey lives in Burwash, as does Robert Smith as my sister is his neighbour.

I was told by someone who knows him he backcombs his hair and wears the full make most of the time, this could of course be village gossip

Thought the Numanoid was Stateside-bound to escape the horrors of Heathfield.

I can also confirm that Roger Daltrey lives in Burwash. I can also confirm he shops in the local shop and likes a bit of cheese.
