Boston Red Sox won 16-1 at fiercest rivals the New York Yankees overnight in the Bronx in a post-season play-off, now 2-1 up in best of five. Watched them smash in seven one innings before falling asleep, they will be loving that in Boston today.

I saw the Red Sox win at the Yankee Stadium a few years back. It was quite something to see how quickly the crowd noise subsided (and that wasn't even in the play-offs)

That would have been sweet for Boston. Meanwhile in the National League we now have moneybags Dodgers versus small-time Milwaukee Brewers - the baseball equivalent of Man Utd versus Huddersfield.

American Sport should stay in America

Saw Nolan Ryan pitch against Roger Clemens once. Should have been a big enough draw in itself.

Stadium half empty. People getting up every 5 seconds to buy this that and the other.

But then guess what, the crowd got interested and started to make some noise but not in a particularly partisan manner.

It was a "no hitter" going into the seventh and everyone wanted to be there for that.

Baseball. Nah. Not for me.

You'll be disappointed to hear that the Yankees and the Red Sox are playing in the London Stadium next year. That will be a sell-out game - hope the beer will be better than the ditchwater they served at the YS.
