Lord Bracknell said:I grant you that it doesn't happen very often and it's rare on the radio. But I know for a fact that Albion players have long felt dispirited by the moaners at Withdean. Individual comments shouted out from the South Stand do get heard clearly on the pitch and it's not the easiest thing for a young player to ignore.
Dan Harding used to find that it seriously affected his concentration.
How do I know? He told me so.
Are we breeding an over sensative bunch of players here?
Think back to the Millwall game and their fans certainly let the players know what they thought of their first half performance at half time. What happened, they came out in the second half and put some effort in and won the game. Another really nasty attack on individual players came from the West Ham fans at the end of the game at Withdean, with some really pointed and nasty comments to individual players. So much so that some of there players got involved in a slanging match with fans as they went off.
Every fans site I go on is full of fans slagging individual players or managers.
If they dont want to hear it dont listen to the radio or dont read fans sites, simple!! But if players are judged to be not performing on the pitch then fans have let them know their feelings as long as I have watched the game.
