Everton's 10 point deduction will have certainly raised many a eyebrow to those clubs that have blatantly flouted the FFP laws of the game and their lawyers will be no doubt rubbing their hands with glee, but I found the timing of the ruling rather strange and would like to see in black and white a definite date for the points deductions and fines for all clubs that have broken the previous years rules on the same day and time, although unlikely to happen there must be a way to do this rather than random stages of the season.

Any club that doesn't comply with submitting their accounts on time would also be liable for a points deduction even if they're within the FFP rules.

With the current system if that's what you call it the points deductions seem to happen at convenient times for clubs rather than when it could hurt them,if any club found guilty of breaking FFP rules and that club went on to win a trophy of title during that time then the proverbial book should be thrown at them, let's be clear they've cheated and that's simply not right, you may as well throw all sports rules out the window if it's seemingly ok to cheat your way to the top in football.

It's become a joke not a funny one how certain football clubs have thus far avoided any consequences, hopefully this will now change but I really want to see a kind of deadline day implemented when the whole thing is sorted out so the people who actually go to watch football know exactly what's happening at all times.

Obviously none of the above applies to Man Utd,Man City, Chelsea,Spurs, Arsenal, Newcastle, Liverpool, special cases will be made for these teams for 5 years until they can manage to find their own FA Cup monies.
One club hasn’t submitted any accounts since 2018!

I've just decided.

The PL have to approve deal sheets.

So they're just being lazy. Ask a team to prove they can comply with FFP before signing off on any transfer.

And then if a team has lied, double the punishment

Surely any team has a day by day view on running costs. Not like June 30th or whatever teams are scrambling thinking oh no, we've spent too much

The richest state can not only buy the most expensive player and managers, they can also procure the services of the best lawyers and accountants.

Morals don't apply, rules are there to be bent. No one wins being nice.

Don't know enough about for the others you mention, But Spurs are nowhere near FFP breaches because of the way they are run by Levy.

Levy has been pro FFP since it came in, obviously for his own reasons, but he's not complained about it and has run the club well.

As much as our balance sheet is in order, does the sudden reluctance to spend and spend big by the usual suspects have a detrimental impact to our business model down the line?

Who knows?
But it does highlight how clever Tony Bloom was to sell so many of his assets to Chelsea when they were still in a position to pay inflated prices for them.

Chelsea are ready to activate a 60m euro (£52m) release clause to sign Palmeiras' 16-year-old Brazil Under-17 winger Estevao Willian.

Rumours are rumours, but if it's true doesn't seem like they have learnt, another untested player with potential - high fee and long contract.

Does the benefit of selling Caicedo & Alexis only last so long though, so unless we spend a bit more ‘now’ that benefit rolls off down the line

Paying 52 million for a 16 year old is absolutely ludicrous. 20 million over our record transfer for someone where there is absolutely no guarantee they'll make it, even as a professional footballer. That sort of thing needs to be sorted out.

A big part of our business model is data based recruitment and that would be unaffected by FFP enforcement. Transfer fees are only a part of the equation. Perhaps even more important are player wages. A brake in both of these would benefit all clubs, including Brighton. It is analogous to being on the housing ladder. If prices go down then your property loses value but so does the one you want to buy. Tony’s stated aim is sustainable finances rather than making profits.

I know that the general sentiment is to not help out the teams on the FFP brink (by buying their players) but given our strong position FFP wise, are there any players in those clubs who 'need to sell' that we might consider a impertinent bid for?

Are you suggesting owners will learn their lesson and not overextend in order to buy glory?

You need to step outside and give yourself a good talking too.
