The talent we've let go in recent seasons due to mis management

I agree with most of those mentioned, particularly Wayne Henderson, Chris Iwelumo, Dean Hammond, Leon Knight, George O'Callaghan and Colin Kazim-Richards.

I don't know whether we were in a position to sign him but keeping hold of Darius Henderson would have been good.

Also, I have to say the decision to let Ricky Martin go seemed a strange one what with him ending up at Man City.

I am amazed at how many players are being mentioned, and they all left because of 'mismanagement'.

How do all you posters know exactly what went on so you can confidently name those players in the 'mismanagement' category? You wouldn't invent these things would you.....??

It's funny how McGhee considered CKR as unmanagable, Leon Knight was unmanagable, Mark McCammon was unmanagable, etc, etc, yet other managers never had the same problems with players that McGhee did.

Have you had your head in the sand for the last few years?

Also was skin colour an issue to McGhee as the players he deemed unmanagable were all black? or was that just coinsidence?

Yes, he is a steaming racist. :thud:

Part of the problem i felt was that if McGhee ever fell out with or was questioned by a player, then that player was deemed unmanagable and had to go rather than McGhee being able to forgive or to be able to work with them again even if the player apologised for any outburst

It is also telling that the players he fell out with were our better players, those who may have been unhappy with the constant critism by McGhee such as his constant line of we have know strikers / players here - despite having CKR or Knight. - Also was skin colour an issue to McGhee as the players he deemed unmanagable were all black? or was that just coinsidence?

CKR I'd possibly agree with you, McCammon was just shit so no actual talent to lose there - and Leon Knight will be dead or in jail in 5 years IMO.

Reckon McGhee tipped Leon over the edge.

He was doing fine for us while he was allowed to play in the only position he CAN play. In the box.

And don't say you never joined in the Leon KnightKnightKnight chants. Cos you did.

he was doing fine for us until he made the step up to championship level

he'd been a problem player before he came to us

Yes, McGhee was getting some good football out of Leon, despite numerous efforts of misconduct.

We then had a difficult season in the Championship and you would expect a player to play for the team. McGhee managed to keep us up against all odds, so we can put that down as a success. Then little Leon hits the self-destruct button with no return...again.

I do wonder why you are willing to give Leon the time of day and insistent that Murray is a lost cause?

It was McGhee played him as a central midfielder, then a winger. Then Leon chucked his toys

Leon Knight was more than settled and enjoying it here before McGhee arrived, but i suppose McGhees change in tactics to long ball football played into positions where he has absolutely no chance of doing anything would have been Knights prefered tactic all along, and the best way to get the best out of him, no wonder he became unsettled and therefore seen as problematic.

Yes and no doubt Swansea, MK Dons, Wycombe and Rushdon also allowed hiim to play and yet somehow they got rid of him in a very short space of time. The fact that the longest playing period with any team was with us would rather indicate that it wasn't down to McGhee. The fact that he has such a dreadful attitude speaks for itself.

Bobby Zamora. We offered him a regular place in League 1, but let him go to some nomarks in London instead. If we had tried harder to keep him he would have stayed.

I thought that McGhee started off by praising McCammon as the player who had the greatest influence on keeping us in the championship, then McGhee fell out with him and publicly humiliated him when he refused to allow him on the team coach after an away game, but i suppose thats McGhees view on how you get the best out of players, if they arn't one of his yes men or happy to be ridiculed publically then they have gotta go.
