Do the club still pay for 2/3 fluro jackets to stand on or around this bridge to dissuade fans from using it?

If so, why? Firstly people just ignore them, and secondly it is a public footpath. Waste of money/FFP?

Not seen any this season but yes, I've been 'escorted' across this public highway a few times whilst I've been walking on my own. Daft.

I fully understand the need for some sort of security and assistance to supporters, but often wonder whether so many of the yellow-jacketed fraternity are really needed. Of course some do an excellent job, but at times, particularly outside the stadium or at the car parks, they tend to congregate in little groups, and you wonder quite how many are actually needed. Perhaps there is some quota which the club has to employ, given expected numbers, but at times in certain areas it does seem like over-kill. There may be someone on here who knows more about this?

No not this season, they could never stop you using the bridge anyway, always just ignored them until the little jobsworth in the full hi vis, you know trousers the lot, got a bit trappy so I put him in his place.

It's an advance surveillance party, checking pub leavers for soft toys, so that the intercept teams round the corner at the RVP can carry out a textbook stealth manoeuvre and nip any Gully-borne pyro activity in the bud.

Surprised you didn't know.
