The "Sir! Sir!" Text Number And What Happens

So you all know, when someone is shopped in (for any reason), a few games afterwards a "spy" is sent in (plain clothes steward) to watch the person who has been complained about. Their job isn't to support the Albion, it's to see if one person steps out of line. I think this is utterly ridiculous.

I propose that fans send hundreds of texts per match to the club about their whole block and see why happens. Unbelievable that fans are being spied on.

It has to be the exact seat and row number that keeps being reported. If there are enough complaints for foul and abusive language then I don't think it's a bad idea. Some games ie Burnley at home last season will always have more than its fair share of swearing which is relatively understandable but 90 minutes of drunken effing and blinding gets on everybody's nerves very quickly, week after week.

Or - just don't be enough of a cock to cause someone to report you. Never used it myself, but came close to it when I was sat in the West, and some bloke sat next to my 7yr old son kept shouting c*nt all the time. Decided to have a word instead, which seemed to do the job.

What if its a complete cock that reports you? People end up with bans and gets their passports confiscated. Not good.

No, disagree. Family club, family stands and if your ruining the experience for people over and over again you can get pulled out by your lug hole by the KGB or the Security Service for all i care.

Oh and as a follow up do you wear a mask to get away from the hundreds of CCTV cameras in the stadium? No? so whats the difference from being 'spied on' with a camera and 'spied on' by a steward? Yes thats right a steward can hear your foul language and abuse.

Who got their passport confiscated?

I agree with Sergei.

If you get banned from football, you can get banned from following England abroad. You then have your passport confiscated every other June (providing we qualify).

Must be a good idea if they are watching someone. That would mean that they just don't just kick people out based on a text. They will find out for themselves. I would assume you would only get kicked out if you are doing something wrong, that could only be a good thing.

Indeed, I suspect it is quite easy to work out who deserves to be dealt with as opposed to a personal gripe

You're missing the point somewhat.

I know of someone today who was approached by a steward at half-time, told they'd been 'reported' during the first half and as a result were under surveillance.

So, you can just be a regular fan, be reported by someone with a grudge, and be walking an Amex tightrope.
