Playing football slick and pretty

One thought courses all day long though-
What could possibly go wrong though?

Top six now a routine dinner
‘Gainst them all flamboyant winner
Bottom three à massive hurdle
Flowing football starts to curdle
Packed defence of dogged doggers
Bus is parked and crammed with cloggers
Pedro not one of their besties
So they’ll kick him in the testes
0-0 versus Throbbing Gristle
Timewasting till final whistle

Sorry, Saints, for this rendition
Based on fact, not superstition
Always been this way with Brighton
It’s the ‘lesser’ teams who frighten
I still marvel at our status
As the ‘big club’ plastics hate us
