Always the case mate, your down and depressed so you notice the sad songs, when your happy you only notice upbeat things. Remember reading somewhere that a part of it brain blocks out certain emotions created by songs/films etc depending on what mood your in

OUr brains do awful things to us sometimes...Its like when you buy a new/different car - all of a sudden you see loads of them everywhere like everyone had the same idea - its just our brain is picking up on that emotion/feeling/thing which we are most preoccupied with at that time. You can over ride it but to be fair we all need a period of down time for our emotions to recover...
