The REAL reason slade left Yeovil/What difference has he really made?

I'm not advocating sacking him now he is here, I would just ask the question what real difference has he made, with three defeats and one win.

The fact he said he walked away from Yeovil, now seems not to be the complete truth, in which case why wasn't this picked up on when knight took references on the man. Surely he would have spoken to the previous chairman about him.

The players are no fitter, not playing any better, and just as few games are being won.

Again I ask the question, with so many people turning brighton down, and time moving on, did knight go for the bottom of his list of potential managers to appease those who were saying, when will a manager be appointed.

Think its unfair to judge really. Hes had a couple of tricky games and inherited a squad which have had any notion of how to play football or win games seemingly coached out of them this season.

That said, Yeovil aside, there seems to be little progress being made. Id still give him a clean slate this summer, let him do what he wants with backroom staff etc and give him a fair crack next year.

Slade was up for the challenge where most people wouldn't be. Managers would look at us with the sackings going before, and this late in the season with someone else's players, and realise they had much to lose by coming here.

Hats off to RS for even contemplating it, let alone accepting the job!

So far, it's been a sow's ear to work with - and my advice to Russell would be to turn the players against each other if they don't want to 'turn up' on matchday.
That's where the power lies, as some players are perceiving that the others aren't all that interested in the long term - so they aren't fighting for us either; "why should I put myself on the line and risk injury, when the others don't seem all that bothered and wouldn't back me up or put themselves out for the team?"
The home-grown players ought to be facing the imports and asking questions - as somewhere along the way this boat has sprung some bad leaks.

Player power, set them on each other, make them take more responsibility - and go into every tackle wearing the hearts of the whole squad on their shirt.

Brighton factually.....
there is no improvement because he has come in at practically the end of the season and not been able to sign any of the players he wants nor has he had time to improve there fitness as they are apparently boozing all the time.:wozza:

ditto

You cannot blame him if we go down.
I think the board have to take a long hard look at themselves as they are the decision makers!

You cant blame Slade at all. He is working with dead wood basically. In the summer it will all change, we will get a fresh set of backroom staff through Slade's choice and get players Slade wants :albion2:

You'd hope thats the case but how much will it take to force Knight to let go of Dean White and Booker's hands? Cant see them leaving that easily

You also seem to believe the Yeovil chairman rather than Slade. In this situation I would say Slade has much more of a compelling argument so I tend to believe him. The chairman clearly f***ed up by getting rid of a successful manager (that rings a bell), and doesn't want to pay him compensation. To avoid the fans wrath he has thrown a bit of dirt out in the hope it sticks (that rings a bell).

Sadly, it looks like both Yeovil & Brighton will be going down. Two chairmen who made monumental f*** ups in sacking their successful managers
