One of our players cleared the ball out of play and it hit the front of the roof of the stand smacking one of the large letters which fell on to the pitch perhaps that's the damage he was on about.
I went to almost all of the games and I saw no trouble or vandalism. As already stated, when we left for Withdean, Scally refused to negotiate over the third season's rent and charged us in full. The total rent we coughed up paid a huge chunk of their ground improvements. So yes your mate is taking out of his @rse
I always found it hard to decide whether to go through the "gold", "silver" or "bronze" turnstile - they were all equally unappetising. Like the town.
Scally was the ONLY club chairman who would offer us a ground to play at, ok, so he took money from us, so would ANY club have done, had any club have offered us the option. Unpalatable as it may sound, but without the option to play at Priestfield, where exactly could we have played? Regardless of cost Portsmouth said no, Crawley COUNCIL said no, Millwall said no. We were in a fix.

millwall said yes but the met police said no i seem to recall, and i also thought crawley said yes, but the council said no.
I thought it was a combination of the Met and Millwall, and, as I posted, Crawley Council said no, not Crawley FC.

I always paid for Bronze but sat in Gold!
This. As the for the area, I once lived in Sittingbourne, the whole place is a cesspit. Truly one of the most depressing places on earth. No wonder your mates unhappy.
