[Albion] The Premier League, Excitement, Peak Albion

With the possibility of being second in the Premier League for an evening at least, and after all the European fun - I was thinking back to the time when we won promotion, and the mixed feelings held by a decent number of fans that the journey was better than the destination / we'd just be struggling to avoid relegation every year / we'd only see a handful of wins / promotion was peak Albion, and so on.

Threads such as the ones below summed up those mixed feelings. Which I also shared (I'm not knocking any of the posters on them).

Looking back at these, it's simply wonderful to see how these concerns have been overcome to a large degree. Does anyone still share them - or are we now all caught up in the excitement of where we are, and even more, where we might end up? I am. And I've thought Peak Albion has been reached a number of times already - only for another Peak Albion moment to come along.

I was done with life in the premier league as recently as Potter's second season. It was just such a drag knowing that a win any given week was a long shot and two wins in a row was nigh on impossible.

By that point we were in out fourth season of not winning more than 9 games a season. It felt to me that we had reached our ceiling and our ceiling was scraping just enough points to stay up with either backs to the wall football (Hughton) or more entertaining but repeating the same mistakes football(Potter).

Then it all started to fall into place and we became competitive at this level. Even if we've hit our ceiling, we now know that our ceiling is European football.

Bloody hell.

Can't agree with that.

Never been as bored with Brighton as this spring, knowing by February there will be no Europe and relegation and then going around losing to everyone in a 3 month battle for 10th place. Starting the tv every week thinking "nothing here matters" and seeing the players feel the same way.
Not fun but part of life stepping up to the mid table. There will be more seasons that are done by March. 10th place and two cup quarter finals and on to the next.

Nah, what we see now should be celebrated to the fullest. I woke up with energy and butterflies in my stomach today, wouldn't have happened with 10 points less and won't happen if we go to Bournemouth for the "battle for 10th" in March or April.
