Once a Catholic always a Catholic eh.

Catholics tend to take one of two directions. They either stay with the faith for life or they run away as far as they can away from it. The biggest single problem with the Catholic Church is the Sacrament of Confession. This has given millions of Catholics (they think) Carte Blanche to commit whatever sin imaginable just as long as they tell their priest that they're very sorry afterwards.

Don't you have to be absolved though? I mean i haven't been to confession for about 5 years but i swear if you've murdered someone the priest usually tells you that you have to confess to it to be forgiven.

True enough but it depends on the Priest. Not every priest sees things the same and they believe in God's forgiveness. You can literally get away with murder given the 'right' priest.

The fact that so many Catholics go and commit the same sins week in week out and go to confession for get absolution for the sake of a couple of Our Fathers and a few Hail Mary's is something that few outside the Catholic Church can understand. Hardly surprising really.

The sacrament of confession only works if you are genuinely sorry when you ask for God's forgiveness. Only the person making the confession knows whether this is the case. Therefore people who continue to commit the same sins aren't just getting absolution at all - they are just paying lip service.

It's hardly surprising they're willing to forgive almost anything when half of them think nothing of f***ing a choirboy up the arse over the altar...

Manchester.
Gordan clueless Brown only invited the pope to visit next year and so happens to be before the election thinking it'll give him a lift in the opinion polls. The pope will probably have a heart attack or something.

Anything this useless fat one eye Scottish monster of a prime minster does turns to disaster.
