Your pitch does look awful, the top players deserve a decent surface to play on.
Lots of the clubs ( including us) have the desso pitch, and our surface has been perfect.
Would your surface have anything to do with the large amount of seagulls grazing and
doing their business on it ?

Weren’t a few of the experienced groundspeople relieved of their duties last year?

I'll ask Marc . . . . he was hoofed out and went back to Sussex to do the cricket pitch.

I agree, our pitch is closer to the Sunday league end of the scale than PL at the moment. given we're a bit lightweight and fancy diddley dee at the moment, you'd have thought a snooker table was preferable.

It looked decidedly worse than the last game, when it still didn't look great.

Seeing it from the WSU it appeared bare, watching the sky lowlights close up it looked awful.

God knows why they watered it after the amount of rain it had this week

This was picked up on by the commentators on the stream I watched. They weren't too flattering about it, although they did have some sympathy given the recent weather and the immaculate pitches you come to expect from the Top 6 clubs.

Frankie Howard would be having kittens.
I agree that the amount of water they flood onto it cannot be good for it’s condition. Shame they can’t learn to play on an ordinary surface.

Why should a top 6 side pitch be any better? The cost of a decent pitch in comparison to other costs of running a top stadium can't be restrictive. We installed one type of pitch and then changed it to the same as Arsenal's and many others yet it is still poor, very poor in fact.

The sprinklers coming on was commented on by me and everyone around us. IDIOTIC.

The pitch is a disgrace at the moment. The bits where players had been warming up in the wheel on goals looked sub-Sunday League.

And where I sat also.

However, I then reflected that I have not been trained, and I’m not paid, to look after a Premier League pitch.

Those who put the sprinklers on have been trained and are paid so probably have more of an idea than me.

At least the 1/4 of the pitch in front of the West Stand (south) only got ran on in the second half.

That might come in handy later on in the season.

Well, yeah.

However, they created several actual puddles. One on the halfway line and one on the bare patch on the North West side of the pitch. Surely that’s not right? Games got called off for that at Withdean.
