Last sensible train to London Bridge leaves Brighton at 22:56. Too early if there’s extra time and penalties.

Still involves changing at East Croydon and takes 1hr 24 minutes. Anything later involves going to somewhere like Blackfriars before getting back to London Bridge.

Brighton factually.....
The 19:58 sofa to fridge
The 19:59 fridge to sofa
lightweight.....

If I was a bad fan and staying home like you ;) my time table would read
The 19:30 armchair to the fridge
The 19:32 fridge to armchair
The 19:50 armchair to the bottom of the stairs (shout up to daughter "the game starts soon")
The 19:51 bottom of the stairs to armchair
The 20:00 armchair to bottom of stairs (shout upstairs, "it has started")
The 20:01 bottom of the stairs to snack cupboard
The 20:04 snack cupboard to armchair
The 20:09 armchair to bottom of the stairs (shout up "don't bother coming down, we are one nil down already)
The 20:10 bottom of the stairs to armchair
The 20:19 armchair to recycle bin
The 20:20 recycle bin to fridge
The 20:21 fridge to armchair
The 20:22 armchair to sofa
The 20:29 sofa to armchair (cats take over the sofa)
The 20:37 armchair to light switch of the lounge
The 20:38 light switch to bed (passing daughter on the stairs shaking head, "don't ask, just don't ask" mumble to self "7 nil again, how, just how")

200 car parking spaces still left if anyone prefers the car route over train
Always surprised me more people aren't all over this. I use the parking most weeks and it's very easy. Yes it takes a bit of time to get out of sometimes, but it's better being sat waiting in a warm car with the radio on than it is stood in the freezing cold train queue.

How early do the car parks open. I had a look on the club website but couldn’t find this. Presumably about 3 hrs before like the train travel?

I am surprised at how many people think this will go to extra time and penalties...Good to see some faith being shown in the team
Yeah silly people, six thousand Chelsea fans will be that unbearable on sixty minutes at four nil up, the place will empty out steadily as more and more people reach their "we can come back from this threshold" I see no issues with transport home.

@Bozza and @LamieRobertson talk of car park carnage and tedium, people refusing to let others out, easy to lose an hour if not out of the Amex early. Some even take snacks and a flask.

Sure it can be annoying but the point is if you want to go, don't want to risk the trains and can drive then it's dead easy to get to the Amex on Saturday.

When I use the parking I stay until the end, clap (or boo) the team off, then saunter down the 1901 steps and walk to the car park, usually with two kids in tow, so hardly flying. I always seem to get home to Haywards Heath around 3.5 hours after kick off. So 6:30pm for a Saturday 3pm kick off. I definitely wouldn't get home that quickly if going by train, and it's a much more pleasant experience. I'm surprised more people don't try it.

I have also on occasions parked just up the hill from the Amex in a layby. You get a parking ticket about 2/3rds of the time, which if you pay on time is £30. With my mate and his kid in the car with myself and my two kids it would cost around £70 if we all went from HH with Seagull Travel...

Which car park?

Like you, we always stay to the end, clap off and then make our way to the car.

If we're in the Bridge, we'd often still be in the car park when you're pulling onto your driveway.

The University can be better.
