Come on NSC, we must have a water based sport 'expert' who can pilot this.

Anyway.
That's a bit of a kick in the nuts for Phelps, he certainly didn't come here to not even medal. Plus being done by his nemesis Lochte.

Phelps wasn't expecting to win that one though was he, he's only trained for the shorter events and those are the ones he is going for. I was watching a programme on thursday previewing a lot of the events and they had a focus on Phelps and they were talking about how he lost his focus and didn't do a lot of training a couple of years ago. It was a disappointing performance considering the focus on him, but all the hype is mostly for the people who don't pay attention. Like me.

3 Golds in Beijing.

Good luck to Hannah, but I'm sort of rooting for miss Rice here!

Hmmm I think I'm as cynical as Claire Balding.

Come on Hannah Miley!
I do hope the BBC will broadcast with a little impartiallity.
Watching the build up to that race, you would have assumed she'd medal, possibly Gold.

Instead she was pretty much beaten by a pool.

I shall be right behind Matt Mitcham in whatever diving thing he's doing.

It's not her favorite event and she is in lane 8 but come on Rebecca Adlington!

Forgive me for being utterly thick, but what difference does the lane draw in swimming really make to one's chances?

I can understand it in athletics because it affects the way you go around the turn and all that, but in swimming they all start in a straight line, the lanes are all the same length and they all finish in the same place.
