Going back to Foles worked out well for us...

Complete and utter disaster. The defence is horrendous. The last two games the Texans and Colts have averaged 240 rushing yards through this porous d-line and non existent group of linebackers. Marrone, Caldwell, Coughlin and Wash all need to go. Pathetic.

Spent a few Sundays there over the years - brilliant game day experience. Going to the London games really doesn't compare (& seems really poor imo) once you've tasted a proper NFL Sunday in the States.
It really doesn't! Spurs was a great atmosphere this year for Bears - Raiders, but being over here and getting the full experience puts that to shame.

From seeing all the tailgating, the pre-game build up in and out of the stadium to just interacting with fans here was great.

Also helped that yesterday's game was a divisional rivalry and that Saints fans travelled well. Great bunch of characters around us.

Was a fairly comfortable win for New Orleans. In a perverted way, I felt privileged to see a classic turnover-filled Jameis performance before he is likely let go at the end of the season.

Fair to say I'm now even more excited about getting the Soldier Field experience next weekend!

Just caught up on a few highlights as I was out last night...how on earth was that NOT a PI in the EZ on Hopkins vs the Ravens in the 1st qtr?? They even reviewed it after a challenge - and still came away standing by the call.
Officiating this year is all over the place (again).

And its this reason that I've pretty much given up on London games (unless its one of my teams) as the atmosphere is just too....English. I know that sounds stupid, but the "tailgating" here sucks, the crowd is too quiet & reserved, with too many fans not really giving a damn who wins as they are part of "the other 30"....which makes it all a bit meh in my opinion.
When the Browns came over to Twickenham (my wife is a Vikes fan) we sat with the Browns fan club, all dressed up, and had a raucous afternoon with a big group who had come over from Cleveland. Had a brilliant time - but almost every other person in our block just sat there quietly watching & clapping in the right places....while looking at us like we were aliens. Thats just not football.

I've probably seen about 10 NFL games whilst living in the States - including Giants, Jets, Pats and the Phillies. Not seen any in London but watched them on TV. The atmosphere in the States is always amazing - typically American, lots of razzmatazz, great build up, lots of noise and, of course, the legendary tailgating - where complete strangers will animatedly discuss the game with you whilst offering you hot dogs, burgers and a beer. By comparison the London games, as Fignon's Ponytail says, seem very subdued and English. Somehow it just doesn't seem to work.

Oddly enough it's the complete opposite with football - the cheering, the banter, the humour, the camaraderie you get in England all seem to be missing with MLS.

Can anyone give a skins fan reasons to be cheerful?
- Yer man can't half sling the ball.
- T'other fella seems decent.

Sure the Offensive Line will get them both killed, before the end of the season, but hey you might get another 'moment' before they're side by side in hospital beds.

I agree, (and obviously I desperately wanted the Ravens to lose), but in the light of the current VAR controversies in English soccer it was enlightening to hear the commentators explanation of why it wasn't given. Yes on the replay you could see the infringements, (shirt-pulling etc), yes it was PI, but they were quite subtle and not, quote, 'clear and obvious'. As the on-field officials hadn't seen it and hadn't given it the VAR didn't overrule them. Something the PL could learn from?

Apparently virtually no PI calls have been overturned on appeal.

Another Seattle win.

Rubbish game; 26 possessions but only 4 scoring drives, and we played pretty poor offence (with the exception of one superb trick play TD, worthy of any highlights reel), but jeez the Eagles were woeful.

Apart from a meaningless garbage-time TD, they stank. We go to 9-2, Philadelphia to 5-6... but incredibly they’re still in the playoff race just as much as we are: only a game behind their divisional rivals.

Well, there was a game involving the Cleveland Browns, and one of the teams scored more than 40 points. Absolutely no surprises there - except it was Cleveland who scored the points! Still struggling with this concept that there are worse teams than us, it's really strange.

Three game win streak, Nick Chubb running over everybody, Mayfield more composed & calming down somewhat, and the receivers stepping up to the plate....

After the start to the season we had Brovion, & with a chance to realistically go 8-8, Im pretty happy with the last few weeks :)

I know, and we've got the return with Pittsburgh next week. Win that and ....... no, no, stop it.

Anyway, yeah, the 2nd half of the season is going well. I'm warming to Kitchens a bit more, but in return he seems to have stopped most of the 'stupid' calls. As you say Mayfield has calmed down, Chubb is doing what we know he can do, and we've got not one but TWO quality receivers. Even the O line doesn't seem to resemble a wet paper bag as much as it did. Pity about the (largely self-inflicted) weaknesses in defense, but if we can win games by scoring more than the opposition then maybe it won't matter (too much). We'll be the NFL's equivalent of Newcastle under Keegan!

God knows what the rest of the season will bring, or which Browns team will turn up next week.
