Dear Gus (an open letter),

On the off chance that you read this message board that is North Stand Chat, please understand that I, amongst many others I would suspect, really do appreciate what you are trying to do at this great club. I know that what you are working towards is a better way of playing football, much different from the lump it and hope style that has been fashionable in England for
over 40 years and is perhaps why England have never won a world cup since 1966. Most know that this new 'way' will take time, getting the right players in and training the youngsters coming through the ranks. After all, as you once said, football without the ball is just athletics.

Therefore, please know Gus, that most fans are behind you all the way, for in the long term, you are doing what is right.
