Crazy isn’t it. Friend of mine was ranting about people not social distancing and I asked if she was still having to go into work? She said no “but I go in because I don’t want to have to catch up on work when I get back”.
This is a fairly intelligent person. What are people thinking? Anyway, hope you get to go home soon.

As you were.

This is a good thread, Simster, and is clearly labeled for what it is. It is a shame to see people I respect criticising it.

I'm still minded that history will show Trump to have directly caused deaths, and that puts him right up there. Already some fool has killed himself by dosing up on chloroquine after Trump idly speculated that it may help:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2...s-man-after-trump-touts-chloroquine-phosphate

As for the Chinese elite, in fact it was the local party in the Wuhan area who hushed up the first cases. Not only did the central government act swiftly (and , it would appear, effectively) they also 'disappeared' the twunt who made the original decision to hush it up. And I am no fan of the Chinese dictatorship. Just getting the facts straight.

While I am on a roll, someone suggested the real ***ts are the people criticising the government and its advisers. Well I have criticised one of the advisers, and I stand by my criticism. That said, his advice is now irrelevant since Boris has had the good sense to depoliticise this and take the advice of the modellers who, like a mate of mine, have exactly predicted the process so far and how to mitigate against its effects. So I don't include Boris among the ***ts (or indeed his advisors, even though I have reservations about one of them) even though I find Boris generally deplorable.

The odd thing about this, actually, is the relative paucity of ***ts. This is why there is only one thread on this on NSC. And yes, this means it is easier to call out the ***ts and, as some have reported, nationwide naming and shaming is actually making some of them backtrack (which is what we want).

As I said, this is a good thread. In time it may be our little Covid thread of shame. Lest we not forget, and all that.

You outdo yourself at times you really do. You, only you brought some politics to the table, and then after your customary passive aggressiveness have the cheek to cry to teacher that Simster's broken the rules. Please sir!!

Point of order. I did not bring politics to this thread. I commented that it was good that this thread wasn't started on political lines, berating both leavers and remainers alike. It was your chum, who seems to have been stalking me a bit this last day or two, who waded in with the aggression..

Good to see some big business names getting shamed. Their usual tactic of money grubbing is absolutely second nature to them and for now, people ain’t tolerating that shit.
Sadly I fear it will be business as usual when this apocalyptic shit-storm is over.
Very disappointed in Branson. Although I used to work in his record stores and he was the LOWEST payer on the high St. Not one of the lowest, not a low payer. THE lowest payer.
So it shouldn’t be surprising.
One year instead of the promised Christmas bonus he scrapped that last minute and gave us a copy of his autobiography that was going to be pulped.

You are talking out of your arse. Exactly WHERE have I been stalking you over the past day or two? I'll answer that for you - if I've referred to you, quoted you or replied to you more than once in total in the past 5 or 6 days (never mind "a day or two"), I'll be genuinely surprised. I know you won't find any examples of me "stalking you" and just like on the Brexit thread, you'll melt away in a sulk and pretend not to have read it rather than give a coherent response.

YOU mentioned Brexit on here, YOU were looking for a reaction, YOU started on me, not the other way round. And despite your subsequent bleating, I'm actually quite glad a few people saw if for what it was because I thought I was going mad.

The bloke who tried to buy 30 ready meals this morning in Tesco and when told he could only have 3, told a 17 year old checkout girl that his wife has cancer and if she dies, it is her fault.

Tesco needs to change its company policy.
In situations like that the “customer” needs to be quietly escorted to the electrical goods section and have a Dyson inserted up his backside to see if he is able to function like a ventilator (giving something back for the national interest and Every Little Helps).
On clarification that he doesn’t act like a ventilator at all, he can go back to the ready meal section and try again.
My money is on he wont buy more than 3 ready meals of any one sort, and none of them will be hot curries.
Do Tesco sell large corks?

Generally would agree with you but annoyingly he has been right most of the time over this.

I'm with you on this. Usually can't stand the guy but he has been consistently skewering the politicians when they need it on this issue. It's a bit like his stand on the freedom of Americans to buy guns. Perhaps it's just the law of averages - he has so many opinions, two of them are going to be right sometime or other.

Hopefully well publicised and a boycott follows even when things are back to normal, but I can't see that happening with your average dribbling alkie sadly.

I was lifetime boycotting his pubs anyway.

I'll just add this episode to the charge sheet.
