Even better! Comrades Marathon next then?

£ 2700 with gift aid. It is not too late to donate to Vicki and push her over the £ 3000 barrier.

Got to say, aren't the hand written signs held up by spectators starting to become reminiscent of darts matches?

Ones I saw today included (apologies for any slight inaccuracies, concentrating wasn't always easy :) )

-"Hurry up you lot, my arms are aching from holding this up"

-"Random motivational sign"

-"Go, complete stranger!"

-"Run faster guys, I just farted"

The best one I saw was "Chuck Norris never ran a marathon". Genius.

My race was going so well until I hit 18 miles. I finished in 3.57, but a combination of going off too quickly at the start, the heat, not having a proper breakfast (for fear of it coming back up) meant I spent most of the last seven miles doing a walk/run. But I should be happy with sub four, shouldn't I? I did, of course, finish, unlike the guy that collapsed right in front of Mrs B, some friends and their kids. Very sad, RIP fella.

Saw Albion tops and REMF outfits, and I thought the crowds were superb today. Really made a difference, and are a credit to the city.

A bit disappointed the race wasn't my best, but I'll be back next year. Well done everyone that ran today - a great achievement.

You absolute gent. Orange is my favourite fruit. I could have stayed there for much longer devouring them. Most kind.
What was your time Baz? Sorry we couldn't stay, had the kids there and it was a long day (and fair trek home) so left around 3.

Feeling guilty.

If you're running the marathon tomorrow for charity post your link below and NSC will sponsor you. edna krabappel need not apply. I reserve the right to withdraw this offer when I choose but I'm flying high on a cocktail of cider, gin and 3 points so get in whilst you can.

Hi Bozza, just in case you are still flying high enough to maintain the offer :)

6.06 knocked 18 off the year before!

Was good to see you again. Yes, I know what you mean. Followed Whoopsadaisy marathon in 2011 and it is quite knackering wandering about in the crowds.

Thanks for everything today. Will look out for us all on channel 4 next Saturday morning!

See a 23 year old man has died after suffering a cardiac arrest. Very sad. Thoughts with his family.

What shit news. Only 23 as well. Very sad.

Excellent, well done.

Indeed, I don't think these runners realise the effort we have to put in. I got off the train at 8.00, and didn't sit down until 15:15.

Thanks for everything today.
Thank you for running for Whoopsadaisy!
Will look out for us all on channel 4 next Saturday morning!
That would be good.

Genius indeed, but lacks the class of "Run faster, I just farted", don't you think :D

My personal favourite was the 4 hot girls outside the Metropole with signs saying 'You've got stamina - call me'

Clearly you were somehow drawn to those ones, as I missed that :)

They probably took the sign down before I passed them.

The bones in my feet are aching. My legs don't bend. In fact, every muscle in my body is saying stay in bed. I haven't got the energy to chase children round school today. Shame most of my class are flight risks.

Two and a HALF grand now :)

Thats a HUGE amount raised, well done Edna! Cant believe that with all that money on you you didnt actually win the race!

If anyone has any spare monies I know that Kirsty would love to get to a mere £1k, sitting around £750 at the moment, and she got in a 4'02"33 so great effort.

And not forgetting all the other REMF runners and riders who also committed themselves to 26.2 miles of effort

Well done runners, well done REMF.

Congratulations to everyone who ran. It was my first ever marathon and my only aim was not to walk any of it, which seemed impossible for me between 18 and 22 miles but I ploughed on and did it, finishing in 4 hours 42 mins. It's a truly fantastic event and I hope I do it again next year, great praise to Tim Hutchings and his team who will no doubt be feeling terrible today after the tragedy, but I hope they get recognised in all the local sports and business awards that take place.

Have you done it yet Bozza :)

No.

Anyone who has ever been due money from me/NSC will testify that these things don't happen quickly.

I was expecting a few more responses, and I'd do them at the same time. There's only been 2 so far.

If you would like to extend your kind offer to NSCers running the London Marathon I'm running for Macmillan Cancer Support (I ran for REMF last year)!
