Newhaven
Massive game in the SCFL tomorrow at Newhaven, where Steyning are in town. Crowborough will still have a say but it’s an exciting end to a great season for all three clubs, all still in with a shout. I know Albion eyes will be at Turf Moor, but if you like the beautiful, local game keep an eye on the SCFL.
Looking forward to this, hoping to see a decent match….I’m not confident of a Newhaven win though.

Probably the best season we’ve had in a while in this league, whoever wins it, it’ll be one of three very good teams and it’s been a cracking title race.

In a mega bit of jcl ness heading to Newhaven this afternoon for the 2nd time this season

Great fun on my only previous visit when it nearly all kicked off in the stand with the Surrey massive from Lingers and one of the players sent off called the fans something homophonic starting with the word 'fu(king'

Nice and sunny too

Rape of Hastings, Sussex
A beautiful spring afternoon at The Pilot Field for a Sussex derby between Hastings United v Whitehawk, with the visitors winning 1-0. Davide Rodari missing a 1st half sitter and going off injured didn't help matters for a lacklustre Hastings today.

Well it’s the Barrowmen’s to lose in the SCFL. A comfortable 0-4 win at Newhaven means a win at home to bottom of the table Uckfield in two weeks will take top spot. The tone was set when The Dockers had top scorer on the bench to avoid a booking that would trigger a two game suspension. We all know nothing is secured until it is secured, but it’s in Steyning’s hands.

Up the Barrowmen!

All I can say is well played Steyning, they deserve to win the league, cracking 4th goal this afternoon. Very strong and organised team that never stopped and fought for every ball.
No comment on the Newhaven performance.

Can Steyning go up if they win the title ?

Newhaven have such a great ground. I really hope the playoffs go well. You missed Alfie. Good summary of Steyning’s performance. Cheers.

Heard some whisperings yesterday morning about tomorrow night's rearranged cup semi-final between Haywards Heath and Steyning. Apparently one of Heath's players was cup tied, but played in a previous round for them. Then yesterday afternoon Heath put out a Tweet saying the game is postponed, with no explanation as to why. I wonder what happens now.

Magnificent for Steyning, it’s been an amazing season, with a really good and stable group of players, and an outstanding manager who has kept them all grounded, well done Kevin Green and all the players and club staff

Absolutely amazing by the Barrowmen. The quality of football this season has been remarkable. Three goals a game. And the squad are a really decent set of blokes. And all credit to the management team. The manager Kev Green has an interesting background and has built a great team around him.

Great season for many clubs. Newhaven and Steyning have only lost four games each this season.

Isthmian ……. my word.

Quite the rise from when I first saw Steyning in Div 1. Best team this season in my opinion, from the times I watched you, Brighton game particularly, look forward to hopping to some games next season.

Heard they are about to get a 27 point deduction and have been kicked out of the cup. Player in question didn’t have international clearance and has played many games. Good source but haven’t seen any confirmation anywhere yet.

You would think they would have learned their lesson - back in 2016-17 they finished top of the Premier Division of the Southern Combination Football League, but were denied promotion to the Isthmian when it was found they had played Melford Simpson in numerous matches when he was serving a "sine die" ban with the London FA over an unpaid fine at Fisher.
