Almost died a death this thread. I've got three new grounds coming up this week. Pagham v Arlesford Town tonight, Phoenix Sports v Erith Town Wednesday, Peacehaven Friday and finally FINALLY completing the SCFL Div 1 on Saturday at Godalming as they take on Mile Oak.

In regards in Midhurst and Easebourne above, they're still yert to play their last 32 Sussex Senior Cup tie against Eastbourne United and the semi final draw was yesterday.
This is finally happening tonight at the neutral venue of Fort Road, Brighton's semi also been scheduled for the 18/4 against Bognor

Shoreham stumbling a bit to get the league wrapped up unfortunately. Unbeaten in the league not so long ago, but have got just 5 points from the last 5 games including defeat at Dorking Saturday. Title race wide open now between Shoreham, Epsom and Dorking (although Dorking can’t gain promotion).

Given the far superior goal difference, 14 points from 6 games will be enough to clinch the title and promotion.

East Preston (h)
Godalming (a)
Selsey (a)
Mile Oak (h)
Seaford (a)
Montpelier Villa (h).

With 2 tricky away trips to Godalming and Selsey to come, I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes down to the final day of the season. Thankfully Montpelier are rock bottom if that’s the case and points are needed.

I see Eastbourne United won that 2-1 meaning they're at home to Hastings United next Tuesday in the last 16, with the winners of that at home to Horsham in the quarters. A home semi final against Worthing await the winners of that.

Only fact I recall from Godalming's ground on the visits made there when Worthing went there in the Isthmian South over a decade ago was that they served Jagermeister at the club's bar. Goodness knows if that's still the case!

Remember arriving there for a midweek game in December '08 to find out that our 'keeper Alan Mansfield got injured in the warm, so we had to start striker Ross Treleaven in goal for the whole game. That didn't spur the home side on to try and test him more, because it was a comfortable 1-0 win for us.

Wow , did I read that right , you have been to hundreds of obscure grounds on your travels but Friday will be the first visit to Peacehaven ?

Lewes were very disappointing in the important six-pointer against Canvey Island Last night.

We were the better team in the first half and created several chances, but never looked like scoring.,

But we were utterly toothless in the second half, barely having a shot, running into blind alleys. And they mugged us with two late goals.

Canvey Island brought about forty supporters...and a f***ing drum, which was incredibly annoying in the Philcox.

Decent little facility down there with the 4G now. Always good for a few photos of the ferry arriving halfway through the game.
I might have asked this before, but I can't remember the answer so I'll do it again

other than the Amex, does Newhaven's ground have Sussex's only TWO TIER stand?

went to Worthing vs Havant on saturday. Great game with around 1600 in attendance.

Havant dominated the first half and were 1-0 up at half time. However, the Rebels came out all guns blazing in the second half, with Davide Rodari scoring a lovely header, then Ollie Pearce hammered in a penalty. With 10 mins or so to go, Kane Wills banged in a beauty from the edge of the box to make it 3-1

Havant got a late consolation but it was too late. They also had a player sent off after the final whistle

They also had the lankiest player I've ever seen in my life

The old boys behind me kept calling him Bambi when he got the ball. His legs were unbelievably long and thin!! He was actually quite skilful though ... just looked quite ungainly sometimes as he almost seemed to bend his legs to swerve round people when going on a run with the ball!

Here
Went to the Withdean on Saturday to see Varndean v Crowborough. First time I've been back and a totally depressing experience. Poor game, Crowborough marginally the better of two bang average teams reflected in the final score (1-0 to Crowborough). Withdean now in very poor state, the stand seating is on the verge of disintegrating in places and is rusty and covered in pigeon shit and the pitch looks patchy and undermaintained.
