Bloody cold out there and very icy in Seaford. If your game is on, wrap up very warm. Mind you, can’t imagine many made/will make it through inspection.

After passing a 10am inspection by a local referee, the match referee just deemed the Pilot Field unplayable so Hastings v Enfield is now off and a nice wasted journey was had for the visitors and their travelling fans and I've not got a game to go this afternoon.

Very strange result for Littlehampton yesterday losing 7-3, lots of goals, bad day at the office I presume.

Saw this one coming a mile off. As will come as no shock after having described Worthing's issues with Dover back in December, Havant had much the same experience yesterday. Allowed to travel all the way down to Kent for a game that even the Dover Groundsman admitted was always going to be called off, and probably could and should have been before they even left Hampshire. Glad to see some of their fans still made a day of it by going to watch Folkestone's home game instead.

Bromley 2 Aldershot 2 att 2700 258 away . Awful train journey ,delays etc etc . Tidy ground still ,local yoof launching bottles and coins at the away end as stewards and OB stood idle . Splendid trip home 4 micropubs between Clock House and Penge East

Lingfield 3-2 Crowborough
Although Lingfield were the "home" side this was actually played at Crowborough. Not 100% sure of the reason it was switched but was told Lingfield have some issues with their pitch currently. Their "thanks" to Crowborough for hosting was to bring one of the most unpleasant sides we've seen at Alderbrook in the last few years. That combined with an inept referee (for both sides I will add) it made for a not a great afternoon.
Game started and was pretty lively but very scrappy. Challenges were flying in from the word go. The ref had spells of giving everything and making it very stop start to giving nothing. Crowborough broke the deadlock after about half an hour quality bit of control from the Crowborough winger took him past the defender and he fired past the keeper. Ten minutes later Crowborough gave away a daft free kick on the edge of the box. Daft because the ball was in the air and Sinclair clipped the ankles on the Lingfield player right under the nose of the ref. Up steps their skipper and curls a peach of a free kick into the top corner. Rather then celebrate normally said skipper decided to goad the home fans by shouting obscenities and cupping his ears. All very strange.
Crowborough did the best thing they could have done and went straight up the other end about a minute or so later and made it 2-1. Cross from the right and an easy tap in for Murrain. Shortly before the break came the first real flash point. Lingfield were on the attack but the ball went out harmlessly for a goal kick as the players were running back there was a bit of an altercation in which the Lingfield no 3 pushed in the face the Crowborough center half. The ref clearly saw it as he booked no 3 but since when has pushing someone in the face not been deemed as violent conduct?
The protests continued as the players trudged off at half time. I can only assume they were still ringing in the referees ears as a minute or so into the second half he gave the softest penalty you are every likely to see. Two Crowborough players were booked in the aftermath I assume for protesting too much. Penalty dispatched and we were back level. 10 minutes or so later Lingfield took the lead. Crowborough keeper came rushing out to clear a ball over the top, he didn't get a great connection and found the Lingfield skipper who cooly lobbed the ball back over his head into the empty net from probably a good 40 yards. Once again he's scored a great goal and once again rather than enjoy it he decided to run the full length of the pitch with the rest of his team mates to goad the Crowborough fans behind the other end to where they were attacking. All very odd.
The last half an hour was pretty much one way traffic but credit to Lingfield they defended very well and kept Crowborough out. The Crows were unlucky on several occasions hitting the bar and one going just past the post. After the game the abuse continued as the Lingfield team left the field. Even their physio was embarrassed by them and apologised as he came off.

Carshalton v Lewes tonight for me, before (hopefully) Burgess Hill v Brighton U21 in the SSC, got plenty of 3G back ups if its called off though, and finally Woking v Torquay on Wednesday

Bitterly cold 2-1 win for Carshalton against Lewes with one of my goals of the season scored from about 30 yards.
