We enjoyed our day I even got to meet hemming wehn I said to him as a Hastings fan I assume you must be happy with the draw well it’s better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick

What did you think? My first chance to see Hill this season. Two great saves by the LA keeper but the red card and penalty took the sting out the game although up until the 2nd goal I thought Hill were still in it. Interesting that Steve Cook gets a yellow for a handball on the line at Forest yesterday but the same offence today is a red - seems harsh to me. And at times I thought the quality of football from both sides was pretty poor.

Not the most exciting game I have ever seen - it had 0-0 written all over it from very early on.
1100 there yesterday for the women too. Great stuff.

I thought the red card, justified or not, spolit what would have been a really tight game to be honest. I wasn't close enough to see the incident, but the ref had the aura of someone who was being assessed and it wasn't a surprise when the red card came out. Littlehampton seemed pretty solid defensively, with 'Binners' making a couple of fine saves, as you mention. I'd put it down as a solid but unspectacular performance from LA, which bodes well for the season ahead. I'm looking forward to them getting some of their more attack-mined players back into the side. Lucas Pattendon was watching from the sideline today, so he's obvioulsy still involved, but still no word of the prolific Joe Benn. Haven't seen enough football at this level to judge either teams' prospects for the campaign, but I don't imagine either side will be pushing for honours on that viewing.
Agree, poor game…….didn’t have a clear view of the red card/penalty but presumably was denying a clear goal-scoring opportunity (ball that Cook handled wasn’t going in, and Kane probably wouldn’t have reached it hence a yellow). Tactically Hill were poor again I thought - hoofing long balls continually upfield despite no-one there capable of holding it up.
Women’s game yesterday was great - Lewes totally in control at HT but faded badly in the second half and desperately holding on at the end !

That's a bit unnecessary and provocative. Horsham and Bognor fans get on well and it was a good advert for a day out watching non-league football.
Save your scum comments, non-league football doesn't need that kind of attitude.
There are plenty of Brighton fans in the Bognor/Chichester area, just like in the Horsham/Crawley area.
Let's try and encourage people to go to non-league football without describing other fans as "scum".
Took in two East Sussex Derby matches yesterday , with first off the 11 am start at Priory Lane ( home to Eastbourne Borough ) , where Bexhill United played at " home " to Eastbourne United AFC.in the SCFL Premier Division . Strangely both teams sporting their away kit with 270+ spectators enjoying the late August sunshine . Ultimately though it was the fans of Eastbourne United that departed the happiest after their side ran out worthy 2-4 winners ( 0-3 ht )
After that enjoyed a train ride to Lewes for the Isthmian Premier League 3 o' clock kick off at the Dripping Pan . A highly competitive game played in front of 1639 paying spectators with just a very few letting their club down after becoming involved in an unnecessary confrontation with the Lewes goalkeeper at full time . Why ?

Yeah Rooks were lucky to escape with a point considering the Hastings chance at the death. Disappointing overall from Lewes, which says something about my expectations on a team of this quality I think.

It's the Crawley connection l think. A lot of peeps moved down from south London when Crawley New Town was built in the late 1950's, many of them Palace fans, and some them, and their descendants reside in the Horsham area now.

Quite a rum do at Crowborough Crawley Down Gatwick yesterday. Finished 2-1 to the hosts but had 3 sendings off and I lost count of how many bookings.
The main flash point came half way through the second half Crowborough player seemed to get his legged tangled with the CDG player. Now it looked like where we were standing which would have been the similar view to the lino the Crowborough player kicked out/stamped on the CDG player on the ground. Another CDG player then runs in and lashes out at the Crowborough player pushing him to the floor. This then sparks a melee which the CDG physio gets involved with which then prompts the CDG managers (who looked like a couple of extras from Green Street) to come rushing on to the pitch and get involved.
All settles down and Crowborough player is given a straight red. No arguments from me but speaking to the lad after the game he said the CDG player had hold of his leg and he was simply trying to shrug him off. CDG player who ran in pushing and shoving and should also have been shown a straight red IMO was shown a second yellow. No action was taken against the CDG bench.
There was another red still to come. Foul on the Crowborough full back which prompted some more handbags. The full back from the otherside I assume says something to the ref. He's already been booked so Crowborough spend the last 10 playing with 9. Thankfully they were 2 up at this point. CDG did pull one back in stoppage time but thankfully it was only a consolation.
Despite my comments above I actually thought the ref had a pretty decent game it must have been a tough one to control. I really don't like this surrounding the referee after every foul. Seems to be common practice now.

Worthing are doing well away from home but feel like when the emphasis is on them to control the game they're struggling a bit.
Myles-Meekums and Colbran are good wide players (Colbran being more defensive of course) but they do lack a bit out wide. Pattenden was a big loss

It's an improvement on last time Hastings came which ended up in a fight ( I think amongst the Hastings fans) separated by a Lewes sub and coach/groundsman.
