Unlikely to make much differenceGet your passport applications/renewals in a.s.a.p.
A 5 week strike starts in April.
If travelling in August, better to have a chance by joining the queue now, rather than in a few weeks time.Unlikely to make much difference
My main gripe with new passport was not so much the speed of its receipt but more the speed it gets me back in to the country. Just doesn’t work at automated passport gates at Gatwick. I did ask and was told it was something to do with my surname. I knew Halfa Escobar would catch me out one day.
Yeah, although I was joking that given usual service you wouldn't notice really. If travelling in August, better to have a chance by joining the queue now, rather than in a few weeks time.
Same here. Our 4 always work at Gatwick or Heathrow.
But we see people giving up.
I feel whooshedYeah, although I was joking that given usual service you wouldn't notice really.

As an aside, the helpful Germans have now added anyone with a residents permit to the EasyPass gates in the Germany; I dont have to wait in line anymore.
Yes, you can apply after 8 years and I have been here 10. But I will wait until the dual-citizenship laws change, which is hopefully during the summer. I do not want to give up my UK citizenship. I have an imperpetuity live/work visa, plus my passport works in the gates, so there is no immediate rush for me.Are you able to gain German citizenship?
I think I wooshed myself. I've been broken down in Woosh Central this week.I feel whooshed
some people really have no idea how to use the gates correctly. Passport in the wrong way, look at the facial recognition, look down, look up, it really is painful to watch. Use correctly and your through in about 30 seconds. Our 4 always work at Gatwick or Heathrow.

I have long advocated that there should be ‘training airports’. The equivalent of a loan to USG before being able to progress to the main ones.some people really have no idea how to use the gates correctly. Smashing idea.I have long advocated that there should be ‘training airports’. The equivalent of a loan to USG before being able to progress to the main ones.
I think that’s pretty common, isn’t it ? We used to use our residents permits through the gates in and out of Singapore thereby bypassing the queues.Same here.

Similar on match day at the Amex with digital tickets…some people really have no idea how to use the gates correctly. Passport in the wrong way, look at the facial recognition, look down, look up, it really is painful to watch. Use correctly and your through in about 30 seconds.
Overpaid civil servants? How can anyone go 5 weeks without pay?!
It's painful. Get to the front of the queue, then only start taking their belt off, getting electricals out of their bags etc. They should be sent to a different queue if they don't have everything ready to go in a box immediatelySmashing idea.
Don't get me started on the security queues - they really expose slow dimwits with zero common sense. Which appears to be at least half the adult population.
I guess so. I think it’s new to Germany though.I think that’s pretty common, isn’t it ? We used to use our residents permits through the gates in and out of Singapore thereby bypassing the queues.
These retards should have their voting record on their ID papers and be forced to holiday at Butlins in Skegness for f***ing it all up for the rest of us.It's painful.
