What do you reckon it is?

I'd have to go for the hummed/doo doo doo doo doo doo intro to GOSBTS

Fantastic when done by most of the crowd. Spine tingling stuff last night :clap2::clap2:

GOSBTS is legendary stuff, and we're LUCKY to have it. But actually, the Hey Jude chant was a bit SPECIAL last night.

Naaaaaaaaaa naaa na, NANA NA NAAAAAAAAAAA

For me, you can;t beat the old classics!

All the lads should've seen us coming
Everyone was blue and white
Everyone was running
All the lads and lasses
All with smiling faces
Going down Old Shoreham Road
To see the Brighton Aces

Aye, it builds to a lovely crescendo of "..AND WE'RE GOING UP TO WIN THE CUP". Marvellous scenes.

.

That is FANTASTIC!

When sung in unison, like at Roots Hall last night, it is a really strong chant.

I also love "We are Brighton" for the same reasons.

I thought we were all on top form last night despite the result

When I first started watching football way back when God was a boy the most popular chant was

Two, Four, Six, Eight
Who do we appreciate?
(Spell out name of team)

You never hear that today and I'm not even sure that I ever heard it at the Albion.

It's "AND WE'LL" win the Cup, not "TO" win the Cup. How many more times am I going to have to tell you lot?

I'm sure I've been hearing and singing it since 1971... so 37 years, at say 25 games a season, at least 4 GOSBTS at each game, so that 3700 and probably more... and each time let's say 50-100 people singing, sometimes many more (like 20,000!!!)... so that's at least 200,000 individual renditions and more likely several million... and it's always been "TO win the cup"

I think you need to try harder, Brovion. :D

although we have, in my opinion, the finest reportoire of chants in football, recently they haven't been going on that long, GOSBTS gets 2 verses - the second rousing, 'Oh The Lads' rarely gets past 2 verses. the long ones seem to be the best 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaalbion, Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaalbion' and our 'Hey Jude' re-edit.

my favourite is 'We are Brighton' although generally I find all solely 'Brighton' songs a bit disresepctful for the denizens of Hove who don't get mentions on sky sports or ANYTHING, I think the club should intervene with the media portrayal of us being a one town club. I may start a thread about this because it annoys me.

On my travels this season I've been shocked at how little home fans sing, we have our excuses at withdean but when at Carlisle when they're under that big old roof behind the goal they should sing up a bit.

do any older NSCers remember going to grounds and being really intimidated/impressed by vocal opposition fans?

I can remember Elm Park being really loud, mind you the majority of it was mindless homophobic abuse, not a place I enjoyed going to. More often than not it has been the lack of originality or volume from the home fans that has been more striking, the Britannia Stadium in Stoke where they only seem to sing Delilah and nothing else...Northampton last season was particularly poor, even Walsall the other week, didn't hear a peep from their fans and barely a cheer when they scored. Sheff Utd was pretty good a couple of seasons back, especially when we bagged a winner in injury time to shut them up, the Roker roar was also a little bit special.
