Going up yesterday car In front stopped far too far away from the card reader and just sat there. Eventually got out and got his wallet out, found a card and stood there looking. Utter tool, who got a "f***ing get on with it"

Coming home behind a car who just sat there doing nothing. I looked behind me nothing coming so reversed a bit sharpish and onto another barrier.

What is it with these people? That and those that drive in the 3rd lane, nothing on the inside doing 65mph? I must have undertook at least 15 cars on the M25 driving in the 1st lane. Utter tools the lot of them.
I can guarantee it was someone getting there and planning/expecting to pay with Apple or Google pay, which in 2024 is not unreasonable.
For some unfathomable reason, you cannot pay this way at the plaza, and instead have to sit there like a dick head and press the help button, followed by giving a real human somewhere your name, registration number, phone number and address etc.
Must happen so many times a day.

No Man's Land between the M6 'Toll Plaza' and rejoining the marked carriageway.

It never fails to deliver an epic edition of Wacky Races, even on the quietest days.
Please don't tell me you've done it on your bicycle

Just far enough away from LDC
Love the m6 toll road. Its how motorways should be. Smooth, fast, and as the op said, complete mayhem out of the toll gates. Best 8.95 I spent yesterday

And what's happened to the Police cracking down on these idiots and pulling them over, and handing out a £100 fine and 3 points. I've yet to see any action taken, and hence the inability to adhere to the requirements of driving on a motorway, where every lane other than lane 1 is for overtaking only.

So much this. I don’t do much driving these days, but was purple with rage yesterday on multiple occasions about the number of middle lane hogs on an empty motorway. Undertake, or pull all the way from lane 1 from lane 3 to pass? Infuriating.

It’s weird that. The UK’s only case of building over capacity, decades later still the same.
The motorway was originally meant to go all the way into London, meeting the south circular. But was abandoned (prob ”cost”. NIMBYs etc.) so abruptly stops at Hooley - travelling north where M23 ends you can see where it would have done as you “exit” the motorway, now just parking for Highways/Police/etc… (so don’t go too fast when joining southbound as you’ll only notice them too late :D)

The B2112 or New Rd that stretches from Ditchling village along the bottom of the Downs to the Clayton tunnel. On a quiet summers evening with the road stretching far in front of you, its very tempting to put your foot down!
That's the Ditchling back straight. Used to regularly hammer it along there on motorbikes late at night on our way back from Brighton in me youth. Blew a hole in a piston on my T120 Bonneville along that stretch of road.
