I also don’t think based on the intonation in his voice that he meant it in the way we’ve taken it. We’re a bit snowflake about the term tbh - myself included!

I've just watched the clip in full and I'm actually going to defend Moose. It's a fair enough question, even if the terminology around #TeamsLikeBrighton is a bit derogatory. The thing is, as Brighton fans, who hear it so often, we instantly get our backs up when we hear it but, deep down, most people KNOW what it means. Everything is categorised and generalised these days, so a 'team like Liverpool' is one challenging for the title', while a 'team like Arsenal' has dreams of top 4. Therefore, it stands to reason that a 'team like Brighton' is one that has a chance – an outside chance – of winning games against 'teams like' Manchester City, Liverpool or Chelsea, but it's unlikely. Or has a chance of winning the cup but, again, it's probably not going to happen.
People get hung up on it – and it's no less funny when people use it – but I *get* what they mean. It's just lazy speak, like when people talk about "Your Rooneys, your Gerrards, your Kanes" etc.
Having said all that, , he's a numpty for saying Brighton got to the FINAL three seasons ago... (or it could be an honest mistake and he meant "Wembley" or "semi-final"
)

I switched on talkRADIO for the first time in years the morning after the Leicester Spurs game a couple of weeks ago as didn’t get a chance to hear Conte after the game
It was Mccoist and Alan Brazil, it the hour I had it on I don’t think they talked about Sport once, it’s never been great but at least Sport was mentioned once or twice.

I notice that the Curmudgeon doubled down on the Brighton disrespect, just before the Birthday spread on Thursday, when Moose's 'teams like Brighton' question was mentioned, and that was nothing to do with Chelsea.

The article about Ashworth in today’s Argus where Potter was saying he understood why Ashworth left worried me a little. If the right offer comes along I can see GP binning his long term plan here

But GPott and Cashworth are 2 totally different people. Just because one says yes to an offer doesn't mean that the other one does.
I have a feeling that GPott has a lot more integrity than that.
Plus I think Newcastle will go for the 'marquee' big manager signing in the summer. Mohrinio type with lots of trophys etc... GPott is going to be a little too small for them.

It's inevitable he'll go at some point but understanding why someone is going is different from thinking the same as them so I wouldn't worry too much. I understand why my mate has just sold his house, cashed in the equity, chucked in his job and moved up north to pretty much retire at 51, but it's not something I have too much of an inclination to follow even though I can 100% see the appeal in what he's done. For a start it'd mean moving up north. But also differing priorities and looking to get different things out of life mean what I understand works for him wouldn't work for me.
I reckon GP might go to Liverpool if he has another couple of good seasons with us. Klopp leaves in 2024, and I think Liverpool fans and owners have the patience to reward a style of play and a manager who is clearly intelligent and makes an effort to understand them even if it doesn't win trophies straight away - can see it working for GP and it working for them. I don't see him running to the Geordies in the next 18 months though.

I think (hope) we have Potter for 2 more seasons, then I predict Gerrard to Liverpool and Potter to Villa. If this happens then at least it means our upward trend has continued.
Newcastle will want the big names, I give Howe a season at the most.
