The "Loan to buy System"

scooter1

How soon is now?
Forgive my ignorance here, but how were we able to sign Lua Lua on a permanent deal in November when the transfer window was closed?

Surely this makes a potential mockery of the transfer window system, if you can take a player on loan and then agree with the parent club mid way through the loan that the deal can become permanent.. Everybody would be at it, and the transfer window system would fail

I would imagine that we did not register the permanent transfer with the FA until 1st January. In effect Kaz would have been on loan until then.

This loophole will be partially closed in 2015 anyway, as FIFA have decided to ban 'emergency' (i.e. short term) loans. Long-term loans (half-season or full-season, taking place within the normal transfer window) will still be allowed.
