We expect local companies to spend money supporting the Albion so why do we use catering company's that are not from Sussex based when we have several companies that are Brighton based and are massive Brighton fans and surported the club in the dark days please use local companies that put the money back into the local economy . Lindleys may be doing better but that's not hard Azure are.:shit:

I've never really had a problem with the catering but the improvement in speed of service and the smaller queues are VERY noticeable.

I think BHAFC are looking at several local caterers but I think the Lindley Group deserve a decent shot at this and I hope they succeed in getting the long term contract.

East lower for the best part of an hour after the game last night had a full selection of pies, Harvey's, and plenty of staff to serve too.

I'm sure things will definitely improve, but one of the people serving us in WSU (I think we were the first people he served - this was at about quarter to 4 on Saturday) required a translator to take our order, and even then didn't get it right! (Yes, we were speaking English :lolol:)

One of our Spanish contingent moonlighting ?

My experience wasn't so good in ESU on Saturday and Last Night. Saturday me and the boy went to get Veggie pies at half time. The queue was moving really slowly and the lad servng seemed to have to ask his supervisor for help on everything. I finally gave up and went back to my seat as the second half had started. The boy waited but when he finally got served, there were no veggie pies left. Boy went to the other kiosk (the south one) and got pies from there.
Last night we went to get him a veggie pie, queue was slightly quicker but no veggie pies again. He then asked for a hot chocolate and they had no hot chocolate either.
I'm off to buy a flask at the weekend and we will take pasties or somesuch, the catering is just too hit and miss if you're a veggie.

Saturday went to Dick's Bar about two hours before kick off. No queue outside or inside, new queing system, staff really efficient, seating improved in the far corner a vast improvement.

One thing I'd like to see is another Dick's bar maybe in the East stand, all those paying customers waiting for half an hour in all weathers for a pint when they should be spending good cash in the ground.

I had the priviledge in being involved in a recruitment process recently with the Lindley Group, the new Amex caterers.
Will we need a new mortgage to buy a pie?

They are doing things the right way with a Root and Branch review of the catering at the Amex.
Cool story bro (without the sarcasm)

The only problem I can see is that the turnover of staff will be massive if they rely heavily on students from the universities who are transient labour and the caterers drafting in agency staff with no interest in the job due to crap wages when there are shortfalls amongst the semi regulars.

On one hand I see what you mean, bit on the other, it's bar work, it's what students do. Why do,these students seem to find pouring a pint, holding the glass by its sides, and selling it to me, such a torturous process? Pubs all over Brighton employ students, I don't think I have ever experienced such poor quality of service at a bar anywhere else.

In the training I attended, all 20 students had a half hour session at the bar on how to pour a pint, Lager and Harvey's. Everyone had to do it, about 50 points flushed down the sink, £ 175 ? So they are taking it seriously.

Yes. Why is this funny ? There were roles in kiosks, hospitality, corporate and the chance of progressing with the company for the right people.
