Excellant result yesterday and in the main a much improved performance from nearly every player on what we`ve seen of late. What concerns me though is our negativity at times even when we are the better team. I appreciate Gus`s comments yesterday that we are not going to - in the main - beat teams easily but I really though that we could have put Coventy to the sword yesterday in that second half and gone on to score a few. Yet again we defended deeper and stopped trying to win the ball in the midfield just allowing them to get crosses in at ease near the end. A better side than Coventry would make us pay with these tactics. We were practically playing 6-3-1 for the last 20 mins.

No, because they looked a really, really shit team with no pace, strength or skill. I agree with the OP.

Had 30 minutes of my normally very positive friend Dave sitting next to me going "Oh shit" everytime Cov pressed forward onto our very deep defence. Was a very long second half - but a great result.

Well in fairness, on one hand you could argue Harley off for Kaz was quite a positive sub with intentions being to go on and score a couple more (finishing with 2 wingers), but at the same time that might explain why we struggled to get hold of the ball in midfield and allowed them to come at us time and again. We got the 3 points though, little grounds for complaint, for me.

I had a woman behind me talking to her friend about cakes for part of the second half and this didn't help either. We won though which is the main thing and to be fair to Gus he told the players a few times to get out but they seemed to get pushed back which does seem to happen when we are hanging on for the win..

It wasn't just the last 30. Straight after we scored the first we looked full of nerves when Cov attacked and just couldn't play it out of defence. That's how they got to score their equaliser - we gave them time and space to cross and get to it. We'll have to get used to the fact that every team we play will press us when we have the ball in our half and we need to move it around quicker. That will come with time though. I'm hoping that we'll be able to play better at Derby - although that is not a lucky ground for us.

Not quite, last 10 with KLL tormenting we spent much more time in their half, previous 20 wasn't good, but that's what subs are for & Kaz changed momentum nicely

Your right Vegas the KLL substitution did give us an outlet, so do the panel think our backing off is intentional or just a mindset.

Was hoping for a couple of goals down the North Stand end 2nd half. By the end I would have settled for just a couple of shots. Thats not to say I wasn't happy with the 3 points. Thought the atmosphere improved in the 2nd half even the football didn't.

It was about as unconvincing a win as you can get, and as others have said, if Coventry could finish, we wouldn't have won. It's not that I'd expect us to always beat teams that are near the bottom, but I don't think we should be defending that deep against them for that long.

They weren't pushed back at all - we conceded the first 70 yards of the pitch and apart from CMS we didn't press the ball. Look at the highlights of West Ham yesterday and look how they pressed Derby all over the pitch.

Against a better team than Coventry it is unlikely we would have got the win and bearing in mind how terrible their keeper was we hardly put any pressure on him or his useless defence in the second half.

Yes it was a win but it wasn't convincing and hardly encouraging for when better teams come to the Amex.
