Either corrupt or negligent.

firstly, it is very apparent that this was not one individual in the party, so becomes a party wide issue now. while an investigation was ongoing into the source of funding, they where happily accepting money from a source known to be doing so through a proxy which is illegal. If they didnt check they should have since they are duty bound to check the sources of funding, if not legally, then at least ethically. No one can claim they didnt know it was illegal as they recently reviewd the legislation and its one of those things that you say to yourself, if it isnt illegal it should be.

Corrupt (but obviously they could never ever ever be as corrupt or as negligent as those nasty baby eating Tories, who as everybody on NSC knows are Nazis.)

Albeit corrupt, Labour is still an honourable and decent Government. The best we've ever had and we shouldn't question the dirty lying cnuts. It's the Tories that are the real enemy.

There.....saved the usual Guardian reading suspects from posting page after page of apologist drivel.

I thought that we'd already established that us Guardianistas believe that we have a tory government in power anyway.

 I'd forgotten the Guardian-reader top trump card of calling the Labour party Tory-lite when things go bad and socialist when things go well.

p.s. I voted corrupt as any party that (nominally) calls itself a socialist or people's party is inherently fraudulent.

Like ALL political parties,New Labour is as corrupt as it can get away with.

It's easy to get these politicians into power, and nigh on impossible to get rid.

So they do as they please, line their pockets, and vote themselves terms and conditions that joe public can only dream of.

(If Mr Beckham or any of his footballing counterparts are reading this, obviously Royalty is excluded.)

Obviously I have no % figures but the vast overwhelming majority of Politicians are honourable and ethical, yes, they have their interests. And particularly in the past, the Conservatives, because of the nature of the beast, had links with businesses, the old boy network and the great social clubs.

This latest mess, with again grate with loyal Labour Party members and MP's.

Again, Harman, is in there. The Plotician with no morals or principles. How many more times will she be bailed out?

UK Politics is still one of the cleanest in the world. The majority of our EC colleagues would just laugh at these so called scandals, nevertheless, we are seeing incompetance here and I suspect a little naughtyness (can't think of an appropriate word) here.

I am all for Government funded parties, this will stop the influence of the donor, the sleeze that goes with it and the vested interest. Yes it will cost the tax payer some money, but it will not even be noticed in your wage packet. And we will get cleaner Politics and it will encourage the development of more parties. It needs to go hand in hand with Proportional Representation.

No, I have never treated New Labour as a Socialist Party, at a national level, I have never voted for New Labour. LOcally my vote over the last few years be mixed with the very good Labour administration of Hackney, votes for Ken, the Greens and an affiliation of local socialist parties. We have a few in Hackney.

Best wishes

LC

I think this is based on naivity. Overall UK Politics - that's national, local and regional is very sound, with hard working Politicians and officials, and a range of Legal checks and balances in place.

The Nordic countries inparticular also have very sound democratic systems.

We all know its Tory Sleaze. A shame they will never get rid of that even tho Labour time and time and time again shoot themselves in the foot.

And Im sure Mr Brown will say to DC (once again) aha if it was you lot in power it would be err, ummm, EXACTLY the same!!!

Absolute power corrupts absolutely I'm afraid whether Blue, Red, Yellow or Green.
