Or indeed about as neutral as you. Most of the reports claiming that costs outweigh income are quoting ASH, the anti smoking lobby. About as neutral as Russian state television.

Record low ratings at this stage, he always was a walking disaster, but to lead our country, which he doesn't even believe in, he makes me cringe when he stands by our union flag, its just another show of his deceit.
Starmer's ratings hit record low as cronyism row continues
To Downing Street, where it appears the new Prime Minister isn’t having the most pleasant of premierships. Sir Keir Starmer has been in the top job for less than two months – and yet he’s already facing a cronyism row that doesn’t appear to be disappearing. Despite the resignation of Labour...www.spectator.co.uk

That’s pretty misleading though because less than 1% of those paying CGT make up over 40% of the total CGT take. That graph can show a decrease in the number of people paying it but that doesn’t equate to less CGT being raised. It will be interesting to see how many investors with private share holdings will be cashing in over the next few weeks, in addition to the number of private companies cashing in to private equity firms.
They will be less affected by any shock CGT jumps and the sums anticipated by Starmer & Co might be significantly less than predicted.
Add that to the probable increasing numbers of BtL properties going on the market.

No private share holdings but made enquiries yesterday about reluctantly putting a small private pension in to drawdown and taking the tax free lump sum now as a precautionary measure. It will be interesting to see how many investors with private share holdings will be cashing in over the next few weeks, in addition to the number of private companies cashing in to private equity firms.

If you like.1) That graph is meaningless without the actual rates of CGT.
2) I notice that the annual CGT exemption amount has fallen under the Tories (from £12k to their own proposed £3k in the next tax year), yet your graph shows it rising.
Not sure your bitter nonsense is worth reading.
Not at all."
You don’t really know what you’re posting so you?
Amazing isn't it - who'd have thought....?Staggering, so you’re saying that if companies and the Government actually negotiate with the trade unions rather than just posture and abuse then strikes can get called off?
And I will wager you that I would trust this government to make more sensible tax changes for the good of the population than the last lot.If you like.
I would wager you, a winter heating allowance, that less folk will pay as a result of this increase AND the figures quoted that it will raise will prove nonsense.
Bitter, me?
Not a chance. Just got a letter of great health news, and my hat is on the side of my head. Whistling a ditty and taking it all in.
