You say that but a very good friend of mine has had 3 consultant misdiagnose her, which has now caused her considerable stress for the past 3 years and she still hasn't had an operation because of their incompetence.
Should they be accountable as in theory it could end up manslaughter?

She is so angry as what she is telling me it should have been a very straightforward diagnosis, and I believe every word as she is a hard working, honest and gets on with life type of character, and very selfless.

They are accountable? You can complain to the GMC if you think that the Drs are not fit to practice or are a risk to patients (or the NHS trust). Ultimately they could be charged criminally if it met the threshold.

Don't conflate doctors and teachers with local government officers. All 'public sector' but the latter are not what the media mean when they say 'public sector pay rises' - which almost always equate to the former.

Sorry but think 22% is a joke to people who when fully qualified will earning £120k plus. ( 70/80K If like all Dtrs in our practice choose now to work 3 days) Its certainly the time to be working in Public Services. They will now all have there hand out. While the rest of us have just been trying to keep businesses going and hang on to jobs .

They are juniors, good wages, lucky them, there time will come.

You'll also know that their starting wage is around £32k because you'll have done some research.. And that they have had 15+ years of pay rises falling behind inflation. Yes - you probably know that as well, but don't let facts get in the way of a good rant eh?

Taking 19 days off striking while patients have repeated cancelled operations, causing unnecessary disruption and worry for patients and families, and extra costs to me and you.

The No1 roll of a doctor is to treat their patients in a professional manor and care about their welfare, they failed this for 19 days.

Right so how were they being crap outside of hospitals?

Anyone withdrawing their labour is a last measure. Double that for doctors.

For the avoidance of doubt; I work in the NHS and yet again you have shown that you are talking absolute toilet.

Labour showing that it’s more important to think about how well employees are looked after, that improving morale in the health service (and eventually other public services too), that treating people decently might go some way to improving the service despite the dreadful pressure they are constantly under because our doctor to head of population (and nurse, and radiologist and just about everything else) is probably the worst in Western Europe, and on top of that the buildings they are working in for many locations are falling apart because the Tories have miserably failed to maintain them.

Because the limit to receive pension credits is £11k - any pension income over £11k doesn’t receive the fuel allowance. So you’ll have pensioners on £11.5k struggling with food and all their bills - plus Sky high heating costs - for under £250 a week.

Why indeed. My wife and I are both pensioners. We’re ok but certainly not as well off as many of our contemporaries. We don’t need it and have given it away often either to our Children or to charities which will help others With fuel costs.

Because the millionaires receiving it are an absolute minority compared to the millions on the poverty line subsisting after a life of working and paying taxes.

Incorrect. We who live in Spain (mainland that is) had the winter fuel allowance taken away by IDS some 10 years ago. And yes, it does get bloody cold here in the winter (houses are of a different construction to UK and most do not have cavity insulation). So we have both central heating (pellets) and a log fire.
