He/Him
Johnny Ashworth may not have got his boyhood dream of becoming Paymaster General in the Labour government but he has got the gig of Labour together, tackling policy for their 2nd term in office.
Ironically he is was a member of Labour Friends of Palestine and the ME yet lost his seat to a pro-Palestine Independent. It’s a good appointment for him though - it is a sort of Peter Mandelson role for which he is well qualified - speaking of which, where is Mandelson - whispering in the new PM’s ear from within the shadowlands that he is accustomed to occupying maybe?Johnny Ashworth may not have got his boyhood dream of becoming Paymaster General in the Labour government but he has got the gig of Labour together, tackling policy for their 2nd term in office.

How do you red flag wavers feel about letting out criminals on our streets? Some only serving 40% of there term.
Starmer certainly isn't wasting time to take Britain to a further level of wokeness, god help us all.
I have to say that those who didn’t realise that your post was spoof must have been half asleep or just too keen to harrumph!Just double checking that you realised my post was spoof. It was nonsense and I believe the opposite to what I posted (except the hypocrisy of Abbott and public schools).
On Abbott, she is surely the most put upon politician behind Corbyn in the last decade. The vast, vast majority of it is totally unwarranted. And speaking of majorities, if you f-up in politics, you can lose a majority of 26,000 or so. Abbott, whilst not my cup of tea, must be doing something right because her constituents seem to be very happy with her.
I hope he doesn't give a bank holiday, a lot of the working people, including me, will lose a days holiday which I have already set aside for something elseFirst real test for Starmer comes on Sunday. Bringing Football Home will be tricky, but already the improvement in performance by England under Labour has been staggering. The NHS/prisons/water/schools will be child's play if he can beat Spain.
But remember, at the last Euros, Boris was PM, the Tories were leading in the opinion polls, and it all went down from there after losing to Italy in the finals!
And Sunak's honeymoon was well and truly over when England crashed out in the QF at the World Cup in 2022, and it's fair to say he never recovered.
It will be tough, but if he channels his inner Wilson, I think Starmer can win the Euros.
He won’t, what’s he gonna do, at 10pm (we wish) have a government broadcast telling people they don’t have to go to work if they work in England?I hope he doesn't give a bank holiday, a lot of the working people, including me, will lose a days holiday which I have already set aside for something else
Not new news , Labour already announced pre election they would ban any new oil and gas licences in the North SeaMiliband overrules officials with immediate ban on new North Sea oil

Him and SKS made it clear during the election they would as well.So it begins, Streeting announces private investigation into state of NHS which in time he will use to introduce more privatisation of the NHS and shuffling more public money into private hands.
Nobody that voted Labour should be surprised when this happens as Streeting would love to privatise the NHS for his mates. He has made this very clear all of his career.
Also Labour should be telling the water companies to do one and bring them into public ownership. It is absolutely disgusting how we are letting an essential service fill the pockets of foreign entities.
Give it a couple of years and expensive legal cases before this policy is rowed back onCould well be and we're exposed to the International market for single use fossil fuels, if its cold it will cost us
The move from Miliband is very welcome and no surprise. Its the start of a proper transition towards renewables and reducing our reliance to the markets exposed to geopolitical events.
We also need to end the ridiculous subsidies on fossil fuels via tax breaks. Thankfully we now no longer has a government of the headlock of opaquely funded think tanks masquerading as lobby groups.
They made what clear during the election? And it'd also be helpful if you can provide some evidence for your claim.Him and SKS made it clear during the election they would as well.
Good on them
Labour made nothing clear at all on any matters during the election. They made what clear during the election? And it'd also be helpful if you can provide some evidence for your claim.
