Just stick with the chorus...

An-thony, An-thony!
An-thony, An-thony!
Knockaert, Knockaert,
Tears teams apart
And brings us victory!
Really works as a "terrace" chant.

First word called out loud and slow by chant leader signals song to surrounding group who immediately reply with the second "An-thony!"

Spreads with more joining in third "An-thony!" and then more still the fourth "An-thony!" which can now be heard across stand and from North by WSU...

All join in with last three lines and then repeat from the start in full voice.

If Knocky has just scored the winning goal then a third chorus could even follow... :)

In honour of His Frenchness’s continuing presence among us, it’s surely time to roll out the finished version of the Knockaert Marseillaise.

One thing that is especially good about the French anthem is that (unlike poor old Sussex by the Sea) the tune is really easy to sing. Especially the last five lines! Give it a go!

Down at Brighton & Hove Allll-bion
We’ve got a winger, who’s total class
He can thrill with the skill of Vicente
Leave defenders behind on their arse
He's a footballing French master-class
We all loved Bobby Zamora - And
We knew Peter Ward always scored
We lost the man from Argentiii -na
But now we've got a French Magiiii-cian

An-thony, An-thony!

An-thony, An-thony!

Knockaert, Knockaert,

Tears teams apart

And gets the victory!

All being well, the plan is to make a crowd recording in the near future and put it up on YouTube.

Anyone unfamiliar with the tune (aka most of us) can sing along to the version below. It's decently upbeat and bouncy – exactly as it needs to be belted out by a football crowd. The singing begins 27 seconds in, and ends at 1 minute 52.

You seem to have spent a lot of time on this and cudos for having the perseverance.

However, I cant see it ever happening mate. Complicated lyrics to an uncommon tune means very very low chance this will ever be sung by more than 3 people.

The Marseillaise is one of the most horrific songs when you actually listen to the translation the synopsis being Don't try and invade us because you might kill some of our troops but we will kill more of yours, we will slit your throats, we will tear their mothers breasts off and then bury you in a mass grave... I mean my french isn't great but thats what i read it as

I really like this, and was in favour of it when the OP initially posted it a few weeks ago. My lad and I gave it a whirl at the end of the Rotherham game in the WSL. It bought about a few smiles from nearby fans but no-one else joined in, as we'd gone past the 85th minute Amex exodus trigger and the crowd was thinning out. I'd be in favour of the 5 line chorus only and in the version we sang I went with "And on to victory" for the final line (personal preference). This is a simple chant, relevant tune-lyric combo and IMO will not be bettered as a Knocky song. If the North Stand gets this going vs Brentford (a Saturday, 3pm home game, no less!) then it'll surely catch on. Allez l'Albion!:ascarf:

I realise we already have the Achy Breaky Heart song, but mumbling through a tedious old country and western song beloved of line dancing pensioners - and chosen for the sole reason that Heart rhymes with Knockaert - did seem to sell this fantastic French footballer somewhat short.

In short, here’s an opportunity for Albion fans to sing something completely different, and enjoy themselves..

Because the North stand definitely didn't boom out the existing Knockaert song on Tuesday, we all mumbled it begrudgingly because it's the wrong genre of music and Anthony walked off the pitch holding back the tears because the tune sells him short and he knows the fans are only pretending to enjoy themselves.

That is definitely what happened!

It is good !

We could also try as a chant,

Allez Allez Allez An-thony.

I can't help thinking we're going to need to cram these songs in soon, every player has their price etc.

The club can be as forthright as it wants about not selling it's stars.
But they've never had to turn down the kind of money that's going to be offered for AK.

all well and good but Knoackaert has a song ..... "We've got Knockaert"

and the whole stadium at times sings it.

Why pi ss about with a winning combo.

It wont have the appeal as his current song which when in full voice is marvellous.

Better off all this work for another songless player
